Peter or David?

Family reasons to choose one or the other.....

I quite like them both, (and think they will be the only one in their class!) but would be grateful for thoughts.

Does anyone know a Peter or a David under the age of about 25?!

I keep saying the two to myself, and can't get on with David. (Possibly because we have a slightly unpleasant neighbour called David).

Peter seems kind of cute for a baby /little boy.

I have taught two Davids in the last few years. Neither English born though.

My BF rolled her eyes and said they were both so unimaginative, but you don't hear either very often nowadays!!

Yes! Yes! Peter or David. Either is fine. Use both if you like. Thank goodness for someone with an ounce of sense on a Baby Names thread.

Might I offer the alternative 'Jayden-Caiden-Loopylop-Hayden' in case you feel out of sync with the rest of MN.

There's a David at the Nursery I used to work. My son who's 19 had a class mate called David. My son's middle name is David.

Neither. They're names from our parents' generation. OK as middle names. But a bit old and boring as first names. Sorry!

Yes they were fairly common in our parents day, but these days I haven't heard any in the playground right through to secondary school.

I love Peter. It is DS's middle name, but I would have happily had it as his first name. DS is 8.

We just chose Peter for my DS middle name (family reason also) and had so many comments on how nice it is to see the name being used again.

David, in case he ever lives in the rest of the world.
Translates easily to most European countries.

Both are fine names but I marginally prefer Peter (probably as I had a grim ex called David!)

Dd2 would have been Peter if a boy.
