Currently our favourite boys name. We wouldn't name him something longer just to shorten it
What do you think?

Sorry but it makes me picture a fat cowboy eating a pie sorry any cowboys on MN

CaipirinhasAllRound · 07/04/2017 21:06

How bizarre!

I love it!

diddl · 07/04/2017 21:08

Prefer Angus-but still like Gus.

buttercup54321 · 07/04/2017 21:08

Fussy Gussy.
I think it used to be a brand of fish food too.

namechange20050 · 07/04/2017 21:09

I love it. Augustus and Angus I love both.

FartnissEverbeans · 07/04/2017 21:09

I love it too

MiniMaxi · 07/04/2017 21:10

Lovely name!

diddl · 07/04/2017 21:11

"I think it used to be a brand of fish food too."

We always used to call goldfish Gussie!

lilyborderterrier · 07/04/2017 21:13

Great name I've childminded a lovely little boy called Gustov ( (named Gus ) for the last 3 years.

DianeSelwyn · 07/04/2017 21:16

Love it.

Glossolalia · 07/04/2017 21:20

I think it's awful. Sorry.

Oysterbabe · 07/04/2017 21:22

I think it's ugly.

sexymuthafunker · 07/04/2017 21:24

Gus is like s fat boy.
Angus is quite cute though.
Sorry you did ask.

BattleaxeGalactica · 07/04/2017 21:25

Lord, no.

He'll become Gus-set as soon as some little toerag wag discovers such things exist.

sexymuthafunker · 07/04/2017 21:26

I think it might be because of Agustus Gloop in Charlie & The Chocolate Factory...

Joinourclub · 07/04/2017 21:28

I love Angus and Gus. I did worry about Gus sounding too like 'guff' so ended up not using it myself.

What do you think of Gabe / Gabriel ?

CactusFred · 07/04/2017 21:30

I like it.

I remember it being used in Queer as Folk USA as the baby's name in that. Really cute.

ChippieFishieHorshie · 07/04/2017 21:55

I prefer Angus nn Gus? That's really nice.

BounceBounceSplishSplash · 07/04/2017 21:56

I love it. I grew up with a Gus and in all the years I've known him he's never been given a daft nickname or been teased because of his name - he always just gets called Gus.

NameyMcNamerson83 · 07/04/2017 21:57

I prefer Augustus with Gus as a nickname (or Auggie!) but Gus is nice on its own too.

punkpuffin · 07/04/2017 21:57

Love it!!

LettuceMash · 07/04/2017 22:00

It's not a pretty name and reminds me of a chubby boy eating loads of food with his hands.

Odd, but true.

SuperBeagle · 07/04/2017 22:03

I don't mind it, but prefer it as a nickname for something longer. I love August with the nickname Gus, for example.

Mrsknackered · 07/04/2017 22:04

I like it!
I like Angus and Guy too.
