Not in my opinion, no.

Wishiwasmoiradingle2017 · 07/04/2017 16:50

No. .
Many worse names being suggested on mn at this very minute!!

nobullshitallowed · 07/04/2017 16:51

My son is Dylan so it's a no from me Grin

Whathaveilost · 07/04/2017 16:53

I wish people would stop all this 'chavvy' buisiness! It's just plain nasty.

I've heard names on here that have been deemed 'chavvy' used by professional, middle class families and so called posh names used by people fro working (or non working ) class backgrounds.
Just use a name if it works for you.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 07/04/2017 17:14

Dylan is a great name.

ChippieFishieHorshie · 07/04/2017 17:15

Chavvy?

I personally simply dislike the name. Not because I think it's "chavvy".

Mrsknackered · 07/04/2017 17:16

No, I wouldn't call it 'chavvy' but hate that term anyway.

OttoChocoLab · 07/04/2017 17:17

No.

GiraffeorOcelot · 07/04/2017 17:23

I'd probably say it is to be honest [dons flameproof suit and quickly disappears in a flash of smoke]

VioletPeggs · 07/04/2017 17:24

I hate the word chavvy.

Dylan is a nice name.

Itaintme · 07/04/2017 17:24

No

MumBod · 07/04/2017 17:25

It's cool.

Bob Dylan, Dylan Thomas.

Cool.

WaitrosePigeon · 07/04/2017 17:25

A bit, yes

WindwardCircle · 07/04/2017 17:26

No, but it is common, as in there's a lot of them around.

Itaintme · 07/04/2017 17:28

It's only 'chavvy" to the sort of person who likes to look down on people.

Who cares what they think.

MidnightSheep · 07/04/2017 17:37

How are you pronouncing it? To a Welsh speaker it would be pronounced as "Dullan.
Dillon/Dillon is the anglicised version.

Also is for a girl or a boy? Technically it is a Welsh boy's name.

TinfoilHattie · 07/04/2017 17:39

A wee bit for a boy. A massive bit for a girl. Even more so if it's spelled Dylanne.

Dowwie · 07/04/2017 17:41

The anglicised pronunciation (for a boy) Smile

LockedOutOfMN · 07/04/2017 17:46

I like Dylan for a boy.

LynetteScavo · 07/04/2017 17:48

No

But there if so many of them around here it's not cool anymore.

Every Dylan love ever met has been lovely.

MidnightSheep · 07/04/2017 19:43

I meant to say it's a fab name however you pronounce it Smile

anon050 · 07/04/2017 21:24

It's a bit common now.

DramaAlpaca · 07/04/2017 22:24

I like Dylan, it's fine.

What I don't like is people referring to names as 'chavvy'. It's a horrible, offensive word.

Nancy91 · 07/04/2017 22:32

I like it Smile

NannyR · 07/04/2017 22:40

It's often referred to on here as a "naughty boys name" but I think it's lovely. It makes me think of the poet Dylan Thomas.
