That's it really... middle name would be anne!

I like strong feminine names... any more?

Both are lovely. I think I prefer Clara just because you hear it less.

Jooni · 05/04/2017 18:31

Clara Anne is very nice.

Charlotte Anne sounds like "charlatan".

ClaryBeanHorshAndMe · 05/04/2017 18:34

I prefer Clara (yes, I'm kind of biased, as my username may suggest.... But Clara is a really lovely name imo)

Charlotte is really popular. But I really like Carlotta.

fannydaggerz · 05/04/2017 18:35

Clara makes me think of Clara belle the cow from Micky mouse..

Blossomdeary · 05/04/2017 18:38

Would you pronounce it Claira or Clar-ra? I like the latter best.

Beware middle names beginning with vowels - sometimes initials can spell some interesting things! My sister's spelt spit ! - and a bit of spoonerising can often be interesting too! Always check these things out before proceeding!

olderthanyouthink · 05/04/2017 18:39

Clara

NotTheBelleoftheBall · 05/04/2017 18:55

Clara. I'd have used it if it wasn't for our surname (which definitely doesn't work with the name).

Chottie · 05/04/2017 19:12

Clara x 100 times

Redpramlady · 05/04/2017 19:13

Blossomdeary

Clara pronounced 'cla rah' to me makes sense to me and I prefer it personally. The different pronounciation as in 'Claire a' totally threw me when I saw that I'm a thread and I worried about others saying it like this and it being annoying for dd!

Initials would spell cab 😂

Clarybean ... it's always great to hear from someone with the name!

Charlotte

Montsti · 05/04/2017 19:39

Definitely Charlotte - a beautiful name. Clara is horrible, IMO...

Although you can't have Charlotte Anne as per pp....charlatan...

Redpramlady · 05/04/2017 19:42

Complete u turn here but does anyone like maeve? Strong feminine name?

OP posts:
BadToTheBone · 05/04/2017 20:06

Clara by a million but not with Anne, sounds like a Beach Boys song. Not keen on Maeve.

MissisBee · 05/04/2017 20:09

Charlotte is on my list for DC due in June. I like Clara too but not as much

Veronicat · 05/04/2017 20:13

I know a Charlotte Ann. Shes named after the song by the fantastic Julian Cope.

Rockaby · 05/04/2017 20:15

Love both equally!

I think among babies, Clara is more popular, but Charlotte is more popular overall IME. I'd go with Charlotte for that reason and also because there are more nn options. It just depends what you are looking for.

daisypond · 05/04/2017 20:15

Clara by loads
Charlotte is a cake/tart to me.

Longdistance · 05/04/2017 20:16

Clara.

It's a cracking name Grin

MollyHuaCha · 05/04/2017 20:23

Clara, with the 'Clar' part rhyming with 'car'. So pretty.

queenT90 · 05/04/2017 20:44

I prefer Charlotte, only reason I'm not keen on Clara is because I associate it with someone I didn't like much growing up! Carla is nice!

Violetcharlotte · 05/04/2017 20:48

Charlotte Smile

NotTheBelleoftheBall · 05/04/2017 20:49

Blossomdeary I LOVE Blossom Dearie!! Blossom was also on our shortlist for DD (also didn't work with our surname).

oldbirdy · 05/04/2017 20:53

Clara is hugely popular now, I think it'll be like 'Jean' or 'Barbara' in 40 years: very dating to a particular era, which is a shame as it's a lovely name. Charlotte more of an eternal classic. Maeve are you saying as 'Mayve' or 'Meev' (I have known both pronunciations). I like it, it's unusual but recognisable, neither "of the moment", a classic, or dated.

grufallosfriend · 05/04/2017 21:27

I love the suggestion of Carlotta!

Misspilly88 · 05/04/2017 21:27

Clara times a million. Love it
