I just can't name this baby girl! It's impossible.

If she was a boy, I have 2 names sorted (4 - 2 first and 2 middle!)

I'm very happy though, but just can't name her. I hate names that I used to like and I just don't know what to call her. I'm just bored of the ones I loved.

I'm very keen on Dorothy! I don't even know why! I do prefer it for a middle name though. Madeleine Dorothy? Eh, I'm just not keen. Really like Maddie though. Just don't know really. SadSad

I hate this.

Maddie is boring, call her Dorothy. Lovely baby Dottie :)

RJnomore1 · 14/03/2017 21:07

What about Veronica

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 14/03/2017 21:08

Or Dorothea, nick name Thea.

MrsLettuce · 14/03/2017 21:12

Dorothy is great.Loads of grate nicknames too, Dorrie, Dottie, Thea, Rea. Tonnes of em.

What were you boys name options?

SantasLittleMonkeyButler · 14/03/2017 21:13

DS2 went to school with a girl named Elizabeth Dorothy. Lizzie for short.

MilkyWayHeyHey · 14/03/2017 21:13

I do really like Dottie (Dorothy on BC) but don't feel brave enough. Veronica is nice but this probably sounds really stupid but the Nica bit reminds me of underwear!? Dorothea is also nice but seems fussy Sad

Eleanor?

But go for Dorothy of you love it. It's lovely and has nn options if you like.

Congratulations! Flowers

MilkyWayHeyHey · 14/03/2017 21:14

Boy names were Isaac Matthew and Nathaniel James.

What about Martha? Ds3 was going to be Martha if he was a girl.

elQuintoConyo · 14/03/2017 21:17

Dorothy is lovely! Wizard of Oz, Golden Girls.

Dorothea is the main character in Middlemarch (fab story - tv series starred a young hot Rufus Sewell).

Both names lovely.

RJnomore1 · 14/03/2017 21:20

The nica sounds totally different in my accent 😬

I'm trying to think of similar names

Elspeth
Marjorie
Dolores
Victoria

All good names which have good nicknames

I have a couple of lovely friends called Dot though

elQuintoConyo · 14/03/2017 21:20

My favourite girls names are:

Maribel (emphasis on 1st syllable, short 'i' like 'live')
Evadne Grin
Elvira ('i' like in 'hi')
Neus (Catalan for 'snow', pronounces neh-oos)

I am rather odd!

HainaultViaNewburyPark · 14/03/2017 21:20

Go for Dorothy - it's a great name.

My DS is Isaac. If he'd been a girl he would have been called Hazel Cecelia.

MrsLettuce · 14/03/2017 21:21

Natalie
Rebecca
Rachel
Evelyn

MrsLettuce · 14/03/2017 21:22

Marjorie! Love that.

EatSpamAmandaLamb · 14/03/2017 21:23

Dorothy Hazel would be lovely.

BadToTheBone · 14/03/2017 21:24

I love Dorothy and don't think it needs bravery to use.

How about Constance or Connie?

SunshineOutdoors · 14/03/2017 21:24

Josephine

Veronica

RebelRogue · 14/03/2017 21:24

Nathalie/Natalia?

PonderLand · 14/03/2017 21:25

Dorothy is a lovely name

SauvignonPlonk · 14/03/2017 21:29

Dorothy is cute. Prefer Dorothea though Grin.

Love Isaac and Nathaniel SO much, so we are probably on the same wavelength?

MadisonAvenue · 14/03/2017 21:31

Dottie is lovely, and a name which would grow with her.

Maisy

Very struck, in a good way, by Eleanor Dorothy, as per a pp. Constance Dorothy (Connie) is great too.

I also really do like Dorothea, with Thea for short.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/03/2017 21:43

How about Leina as a nn for Madeleine. It doesn't have to be Maddie
