Which do you prefer, Agnes Cecelia or Cecelia Agnes? (Sister to Margot as in previous post Smile).

Cecelia

ToDuk · 14/03/2017 04:24

Neither. Agnes will always be a nun's ne and Cecilia will make people dung Simon and Garfunkel or the Vamps depending on their age.

ToDuk · 14/03/2017 04:25

Nun's name

WorldWideWish · 14/03/2017 04:44

Cecilia (I prefer this apelling)

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/03/2017 05:04

Cecelia. Cece would be a lovely nn.
Agnes is awful

Sophronia · 14/03/2017 06:57

Love both! I slightly prefer Cecilia (this spelling)

tooclosetocall · 14/03/2017 07:03

Same as Sophronia.

The middle e in Cecilia looks out of place to me. I think this a modern spelling I maybe wrong

onlyconnect · 14/03/2017 07:04

Cecilia.
But prefer just Celia.

sosieso · 14/03/2017 07:15

Definitely Cecilia (only spelled that way though). It is a beautiful, classic name. Good nicknames. I personally love the Simon and Garfunkle song so it wouldn't put me off. My good friend has a horse called Agnes, so I personally can't see it as a human name now! Also, Agnes is harsh sounding compared to Cecilia which rolls off the tongue.

Jooni · 14/03/2017 07:30

I love Agnes!

But Margot and Agnes is very Despicable Me

Sixoclocknews · 14/03/2017 07:32

I know a toddler Agnes and think it's really cute. Cecilia is very stuffy and old-fashioned.

Chatelherault · 14/03/2017 07:33

Agnes is not a very nice name in my opinion; ugly looking and sounding (sorry).

Cecilia, on the other hand, is downright beautiful.

I would go with Cecilia Juliet.

CocoLoco87 · 14/03/2017 08:18

Cecilia (spelt this way). In terms of nn, Cece is lovely but Aggie?...

MollyHuaCha · 14/03/2017 08:25

Love these names, esp Agnes.

SuperBeagle · 14/03/2017 08:34

Agnes is so homely.

I'm not a huge fan of Cecelia (also prefer the spelling Cecilia, as others have said), but it's infinitely better than Agnes.

Cecilia is beautiful.

I personally don't like the meaning but it's a really lovely name.

I really don't like Agnes, tbh.

EssentialHummus · 14/03/2017 11:03

Cecilia with an i, or Celia.

KoalaDownUnder · 14/03/2017 11:05

Cecilia (or Cecelia - don't care about the spelling). I love it, and the nn Celia.

Agnes is an ugly sound.

Joinourclub · 14/03/2017 11:14

Cecilia is much prettier. But for me I can't say it with out singing 'you're breaking my heart' ( it's the Suggs version in my head). I like Agnes. I don't think girls names need to be pretty.

EssentialHummus · 14/03/2017 11:19

Well, I've got the song on now Grin

goldenrachita · 14/03/2017 11:40

I like both and both sound really good with Margot. I would probably go with Agnes as I feel it has the same 'ungirly but extremely cool' feel as Margot. They would sound wonderful as a pair. I don't think Agnes is ugly at all. It's just not trendy. It has a bit of an edgy style to it, which is very good.

DramaAlpaca · 14/03/2017 11:43

Agnes goes best with Margot, they sound really good together.

Cecilia (spelled this way for preference) is a much softer, gentler name than both of them.

I'll be singing that song all day now...

MollyHuaCha · 14/03/2017 14:47

Agnes B. Chic and sophisticated.

Agnes or Cecelia?
Pemba · 14/03/2017 14:55

Agnes in the English pronunciation is quite a harsh sound.

Prefer Cecilia, sounds pretty, classic, but quite unusual.
