I have a very gorgeous 6 week old little boy but he doesn't have a name :(

He is 6 weeks old tomorrow and we do have an appointment to register him but I am crossing my fingers that I'm able to change it.

The issue is that we just can't agree. My favourite name is Elliot but he doesn't like it and his favourite is Montgomery (I had never heard of this name before I met him). He seems to like really over the top 'posh' names? Confused my offer was Hugo - I thought that was an amazing compromise! He doesn't like that Confused

I'm struggling massively SadSadSad

He is adorable Smile How about Marcus?

Cinnamon84 · 15/03/2017 09:53

Aw he looks like an Elliot!

If he's taking your partners surname (sorry didn't see if you're married or not) I think it's fair you choose a name!

GirlElephant · 15/03/2017 11:03

OP lots of great suggestions here. Any that work? Hope to hear your beautiful boy has a name!

user1489585433 · 15/03/2017 13:54

He's beautiful! I really hope he ends up being an Elliot Smile

pillowcase6 · 15/03/2017 14:03

I think Robert is lovely! And he can be Robbie while he's little.

NotaSnowflake · 15/03/2017 14:06

Eden/Edan?

NotaSnowflake · 15/03/2017 14:09

Monty is cute but Montgomery just makes me think of Montgomery Burns in The Simpsons Grin

Snowinsummer · 15/03/2017 14:10

Charles. Charlie for short

NotaSnowflake · 15/03/2017 14:12

I think the baby in that picture is definitely an Elliot! X

ButtMuncher · 15/03/2017 14:15

He's an Elliot for sure. Was my favourite name all throughout pregnancy but my OH wasn't keen.

We ended up with another name mentioned on here - Finlay Grin (dunno why we did an a and not an e)

He is gorgeous!

Henry or Theodore ?

Rednailsandnaeknickers · 15/03/2017 14:44

Oh lord not Montgomery it's terrible and like a PP makes me think of repressed useless public school boys with ishooooos. It would consign him to an entire school career of piss taking sorry (well, where I live anyway, maybe not if you're in leafy London suburb).
Why is your DH obsessed with "strong" names - is he thinking of a certain war general? Not the best example of humanity I have to say ...

Your boy is gorgeous and deserves a name that won't be ridiculous for life!

Elliot suits him.

PunkAssMoFo · 15/03/2017 15:09

Edmund is a great name. Story, not too posh & nn options.

littlepinkmouseofsugar · 15/03/2017 18:31

He's gorgeous! Have you decided on a name yet/ I liked your suggestion of Robert.

RortyCrankle · 15/03/2017 19:53

If all else fails, he could be called Ichabod Grin

FreeNiki · 15/03/2017 21:23

Go for Robert.

Little Robbie as a baby and Rob when he is older.

JungleInTheRumble · 16/03/2017 02:15

Such an adorable baby! How about

Rupert
Tristan
Bernard (could be Benny or Ben for short?)
Timothy

JungleInTheRumble · 16/03/2017 02:17

Oh I knew a couple of Monty's whose actual name was Montague - which i prefer to Montgomery. Montgomery makes me think of Mr Burns and also Grey's anatomy...

lrb1982 · 16/03/2017 03:06

He's gorgeous and looks a lot like my brand new Elliot (3 weeks old) so definitely use that name. It is strong but not too common. We've had such a good reaction to his name too. Good luck!

LorLorr2 · 16/03/2017 16:14

Did you register him in the end OP? Smile

Kazzawazza69 · 17/03/2017 18:49

Is there any update on this? I have been following with interest!

skislope · 17/03/2017 18:50

Dominic - Dom for short?

Kittykatclaws · 17/03/2017 18:55

Gosh I do hope he's called Elliot.. he's a sweetheart!

nonameinspiration · 17/03/2017 18:56

Omg what a gorgeous baby. Edmund reminds me of Narnia books.
Robert nn Bobby?
Gabriel is great.
My fave name presently is Francis
