@Astro55 how will they date? I know lots of all different ages!

I like Dillon best.

I don't think they're overused! I only know a few of each and all different ages, but I'm in London so possibly a regional thing.

Neither.

Ciaran is the worse of the two. Simply because you will burden an individual of thousands of requests of "how do you spell that" or constant mispellings.

Sorry, hate Dillon. Too much like magic roundabout. Sort of name that makes you envisage a kid that's not too clever. Sorry. Don't much like Ciaran either.

I would think Dillon will also often be spelled wrong, depending on where you are. Dylan is the more common spelling I think.

Of course not, but it is fucking annoying. I have a difficult name, and part of the reason I chose simple easy names for my kids.

You'll be correcting spelling for a long time.

Ah Dylan/Dillon and the Magic roundabout thing - ridiculous, only people in their late forties/fifties and older even remember it anymore and nobody called Dylan/Dillon now or anytime in the last 30 years will have ever heard of it - really don think it's worth worrying about that association.

I have no idea how you pronounce Ciaran? Anyone care to enlighten me? I know a little Dillon and spelled that way, it suits him and it's quite cute.

The Magic Roundabout is a delightful and amusing show, and retro is cool An excellent association if you ask me!

I really like Ciaran spelt that way. And i love both Dillon and Dylan.

Neither are my taste.

But maybe we have different tastes and life would be dull if we all chose similar names

I have a Dylan. Don't know any others (& no one has ever mentioned the magic roundabout thing, obviously). And Ciaran (spelt the correct way!) is also on our list for DS3. So on that basis Dillon and then Ciaran but both great names.

I prefer Ciaran but Dylan is better than both, IMO. Having a name that can be spelt two ways is mildly annoying, in my experience.
