Seren

Bellaposy · 09/03/2017 14:30

Seren.

StandAndBeCounted · 09/03/2017 14:33

My daughter's called Mali. But pronounced Mahli. Like the country. I've never met another.

ClaryIsTheBest · 09/03/2017 14:37

Both are nice :)

I really like Mali.

Kettricken · 09/03/2017 14:38

I'm in England and know a Mali, it's a very pretty name.

GuinessPunch · 09/03/2017 14:39

I know a mali to rhyme with halle.
What about malia

ClaryIsTheBest · 09/03/2017 14:43

Btw, I'd pronounce Mali as Muh-Lee. Very similar to mummy, now that I think about it. Oops?

Maybe Seren or Malia would be a better choice...

confusedandemployed · 09/03/2017 14:44

I'd go for Mali but I live in Wales and we have loads of Serens. A few Malis but not so many.

shetisham · 09/03/2017 14:44

I love Mali (pronounced Mally). I'm Welsh :-)

ToastVacuum · 09/03/2017 14:44

Seren

WyfOfBathe · 09/03/2017 14:45

Seren

I would assume that a child called Mali had some connection with the country. Maybe Molly (English version) or Malia like Guiness suggested

LadyGiraffe123 · 09/03/2017 14:45

I thought Mali was pronounced Mah- Lee?

OP posts:
twocockers · 09/03/2017 14:46

I'd say it was Marley

junemami · 09/03/2017 14:46

Mali, or Mabli. Not Seren.

StandAndBeCounted · 09/03/2017 14:53

That's how we pronounce it OP, but I thought the welsh version was pronounced Mally. Because she gets that a lot

confusedandemployed · 09/03/2017 14:54

Stand Yo ure right. It is pronounced Mally.

VoldemortsMissus · 09/03/2017 14:58

I'm a Mali & I love my name.

If I was a boy I'd have been Marley.

I pronounce it Marley. Be prepared for people to put an 'r' in it though! Like Marli!

CakeRattleandRoll · 09/03/2017 14:58

Seren

VoldemortsMissus · 09/03/2017 15:00

Ps. I don't know any other Mali's 🙈

ThoraGruntwhistle · 09/03/2017 15:26

I thought the welsh name Mali rhymed with Sally Confused I much prefer Seren though, it's lovely.

Rockaby · 09/03/2017 15:41

Seren

BounceBounceSplishSplash · 09/03/2017 16:03

Seren.

Though Meredith is my favourite Welsh girl's name followed by Bronwen.

MumofChuckie · 09/03/2017 16:09

My baby is half Welsh living in London and is called Mabli - means 'loved one'

CaipirinhasAllRound · 09/03/2017 16:21

Malia's a really tacky pisshead resort in Crete or somewhere, don't use that

crazypenguinlady · 09/03/2017 16:25

Both are lovely. I briefly considered Seren if my baby had been a girl but we already have one in the family so decided against it. Shame as it's very pretty. Mali is lovely as well and more usual which is a plus for some people.
