Already have a Miles. I want to use an M name. Is Micah too similar?

Both lovely names but I'm not sure I would put them together for siblings especially if you are pronouncing Micah as Mike ah

sycamore54321 · 28/02/2017 23:46

Too similar for me, especially if the first syllable of each is to be pronounced the same way. Visually they are quite similar to as well with the same start and being the same length.

I'm having trouble finding an boys M name I like! Any suggestions? ( I really do have to use an M)

Malachi
Hhhhmmm I'm stumped Micah would actually be my favourite M boys name. Also like Milo but that doesn't go either!

Why are you so set on two M names? I think it actually takes away from the uniqueness of Miles.

RedSauce · 28/02/2017 23:59

Max
Moses
Morgan
Matthew
Marcelo

I'd be naming the new baby after a close relative who recently died. Otherwise I'd avoid 2 M names!

Oh LOVE Moses as a previous poster suggested!!

Winniethepooer · 01/03/2017 00:17

I have a Myles.
Personally I would avoid another M name.

SuperBeagle · 01/03/2017 03:11

Magnus
Merlin
Max
Maxwell
Morgan
Maverick
Matthew

SuperBeagle · 01/03/2017 03:12

Oh, and Marlon, which is my favourite!

Newbiecat · 01/03/2017 03:13

Murray? A nice Scottish one!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 01/03/2017 09:32

Miles and Marcus

HelenDenver · 01/03/2017 09:37

Yes, too similar.

But don't understand the naming after part.

HelenDenver · 01/03/2017 09:38

So if the relative (sorry for your loss) was Micah, using Marcus wouldn't be "naming after"...?

Marcus is lovely though!

HelenDenver · 01/03/2017 09:38

Could you use your relative's name as a middle name?

BasicBetty · 01/03/2017 11:29

Matthew, Marcus, Max all work well with Miles.

marthawashington · 01/03/2017 13:11

In my religion's tradition you use the first letter of the deceased's name as the first letter of the baby's name.

OP posts:
HelenDenver · 01/03/2017 13:28

Ah, I see.

Betty's suggestions are all nice.

NotRumpole · 01/03/2017 21:59

Mungo

Mrsknackered · 01/03/2017 22:05

Love Moses but would say it's more similar to Miles and Micah.
If Micah is Mee-kah I would go for it.
Malachi is also a lovely name and I really love Morgan as it's a family name but not sure if I'd like it otherwise!

JanuaryJuniper · 01/03/2017 22:14

Do you like any of the suggestions as this might help posters get an idea of your preferred style!

Punksparkle · 01/03/2017 22:19

I work with a Micah, he's gormless! :)

AbernathysFringe · 01/03/2017 22:35

Maxim as opposed to Max
Marius
Mattias

ImYourWomanJonSnow · 02/03/2017 16:53

Marlowe
Marvin
Marlon

But I would avoid another M

marthawashington · 02/03/2017 17:27

Thanks everyone! I love Moses! Maybe with nick name Moe! Morgan is also good but I'm in the US and it's usually a girl's name here. I like Max ( not so much Maxwell) but I typically am more interested less used names.
What are you thoughts on Mac?
