Leila

DS2 was going to be a Leila

Newtssuitcase · 03/02/2017 17:39

Layla looks like you don't know how to spell Leila

n0ne · 03/02/2017 17:39

Def Leila

Thirtyrock39 · 03/02/2017 17:40

Laila

Foureyesarebetterthantwo · 03/02/2017 17:40

I don't know if you say 'Leila' as 'l-ay-la' or 'l-eye-la', I would obviously say Layla as the first of those.

Ankleswingers · 03/02/2017 17:41

Prefer Layla hands down.

Leila I'm just not so keen on.

GenerationsLP · 03/02/2017 17:41

They're both pronounced the same.

Laila isn't an option :)

TheRealBarenziah · 03/02/2017 17:44

I LOVE the name Leila!

user1485706893 · 03/02/2017 17:45

I have a friend called Layla, I really like it

Allofme2017 · 03/02/2017 17:45

I know a Leila pronounced Lee-la.

raviolidreaming · 03/02/2017 17:49

Layla, as in the Eric Clapton song.

GenerationsLP · 03/02/2017 17:51

Allofme she pronounces it incorrectly Wink

CactusFred · 03/02/2017 17:54

Layla because just reading that spelling plays the opening rift of Eric Clapton's classic.

alteredimages · 03/02/2017 17:55

I would spell it Leila for ليلى and Layla or Lela for ليلة.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 03/02/2017 18:04

Leila.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 03/02/2017 18:07

I like both equally. I would normally have a definite preference for the more 'traditional' spelling of a name but in this situation I think both spellings are fine

GreatScot8 · 03/02/2017 18:58

Layla.

It's the original spelling, despite what most people think. Plus, Leila removes the song connection and that song is one of the greatest ever written.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 03/02/2017 19:13

Layla or Laila

MrsMeeseeks · 03/02/2017 19:25

Leila.

Sophronia · 03/02/2017 20:51

Leila

DramaAlpaca · 03/02/2017 21:33

Layla

MixedGrill · 03/02/2017 21:36

Leila.

MixedGrill · 03/02/2017 21:41

How is 'Layla' the original? It's an Arabic / Hebrew / Persian name so and spelling in English would be phonetic from the original language.

Dontrocktheboat · 04/02/2017 00:06

I think of Leila as the original spelling and Layla as the Eric Clapton song. Both ok though personally would choose Leila.
