Penelope! Beautiful name. Olive will forever be correcting people who think her name is Olivia.

mum2be2boys · 02/02/2017 23:11

Both are lovely, but I prefer Olive :-)

DramaAlpaca · 02/02/2017 23:13

I like both, but I'd pick Olive.

Adory · 02/02/2017 23:21

Both on my 'list' good choices 💗

10Betty10 · 02/02/2017 23:27

Olive feels so much cooler than Penny (which Penelope often gets shortened to).

Jojay · 02/02/2017 23:29

Olive

GreatScot8 · 02/02/2017 23:40

I love both.

I'd probably choose Olive, as Penelope seems to be increasing in popularity quite rapidly and I fear it'll become "trendy".

I would've had Olive on my list if we didn't already have an Olivia in the family. I love the nickname Ollie for Olive, rather than Liv.

ummlilia · 02/02/2017 23:46

Penelope. To people over a certain age Olive was a very unattractive woman in the 70s sitcom On The Buses

Sophronia · 02/02/2017 23:47

Olive

GerundTheBehemoth · 02/02/2017 23:48

I don't like Olive - probably because I don't like olives. Penelope/Penny on the other hand is great.

AutumnalLeaves38 · 03/02/2017 05:26

Olive.

Always makes me imagine a creative kid, who walks to the beat of their own drum. Full of personality. I like Liv, too.

Raines100 · 03/02/2017 06:24

Penelope. Olive is not a nice name.

Tantrictantrum · 03/02/2017 07:35

Funny how Olive is acceptable but Broccoli, Banana, Grape and Cucumber aren't. The English language is a funny thing.
Penelope gets my vote.

GreatScot8 · 03/02/2017 07:38

Tantric A bit like how Lily is acceptable, but Bottlebrush isn't. Wink

Tantrictantrum · 03/02/2017 09:06

Yeah but most flowers are - Poppy, Primrose, even Ivy. Not many fruits and vegetables are permitted. Gwyneth has an Apple and that was unusual.
Not a dig by the way, just an observation .

crapfatbanana · 03/02/2017 10:05

I like Penny but Penelope is too frilly for me. Olive I'm on the fence about.

Jojo13 · 03/02/2017 13:03

Love Penelope (not keen on Penny as a nn though)

Nospringflower · 03/02/2017 13:05

Not keen on Olive. Think it soinds old and dour.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 03/02/2017 13:06

Penelope.

KlingybunFistelvase · 03/02/2017 13:09

Olive but like both.

MrsGB2225 · 03/02/2017 13:09

Penelope

TheNumberfaker · 03/02/2017 13:41

Penelope definitely.

SerialReJoiner · 03/02/2017 13:44

I have a Penelope. :) I really liked the nn Nell or Poppy when I was pregnant, but we ended up using the ubiquitous Penny instead. We've only met one other child Penny, so I don't know about its popularity rising.

Pipilangstrumpf · 03/02/2017 16:08

Olive is a green oily olive to me, sorry Blush

So I vote Penelope

Dolwar · 03/02/2017 16:40

I like Penelope. It's one I've considered actually. I know a girl called that, nn Penny.
