Baby girl is 4 weeks old. We love Autumn Wren. Is it just too 'Yankee'? Sad

Oh Autumn Kate is my favourite.

It's a bit Farrow and Ball paint swatch. Pretty enough - I love Wren - but might be a bit much together.

It'd be OK for an animal, like a pedigree cat maybe. Not a human.

Autumn Kate is lovely.

Autumn Madeleine is my favourite so far.

As an aside...a name is a name, it doesn't matter when she was born. I know several Summers, Mays and June's with birthdays that don't reflect their names. Lots of Johns that weren't born in the john too!

I like all your name choices. They are pretty. I really dont understand why people worry about middle names so much. Other than when you are announcing your new babies name nobody ever uses them. It really doesn't matter if the middle name goes with the first name.

Agree with the F&B paint colour comment. Re Autumn Kate: Winter Kate is a clothing label.... FWIW I prefer Wren to Autumn. Wren seems easier to pair with another name, too.

I mean another middle name

Ie Autumn Elizabeth Wren Surname

Or whatever you fancy

Autumn Katelyn Wren Surname
Autumn Katarina Wren Surname
Autumn Catherine Wren Surname

Too much together.

I love the name Wren though.

Autumn Wren is, as others have said, a great name, but only for a paint colour.

Wren is a lot nicer than Autumn though, and Wren Autumn doesn't sound so twee and could work?

We wouldn't use Wren as a first name, we do love it, but love it as a middle name.

Autumn Madeleine or Autumn Kate are nicer

Autumn Madeleine and Autumn Kate are lovely. Autumn Wren does sound a bit like a breed.

I think Autumn is a lovely name. even for a December baby. It really doesn't have to be seasonally accurate.

However, date wise winter has to start earlier than 3 weeks before midwinter? So just explain "we chose Autumn because we liked the name, she was born in December."

Autumn is getting popular, agreeing with whoever said. Not that that would bother me. Autumn is faux hippy, bit like Summer (Summer even more popular).

What is the appeal of Wren here on here? It mst be in the Mumsnet baby names top 10, especially for a middle! Wren is just so dull. I think I've heard it suggested far too much as 'left of field' choice.

i am sorry I can't do that OP...

Use it in whatever season you like though. Honestly! Agree Aprils, Mays and Junes don't need to reflect the month.

They are all lovely names ... I can't get past calling a child autumn in December though! Sorry just my own issue!

What about Madeleine Wren?

I really like Autumn Wren (though thought of Autumn Rain)

Autumn Rain sounds like a shower gel

It's an embarrassing name for a teacher, soldier, barrister, shop assistant, accounts manager

I know a teacher called Boudicca...She seems to cope Grin.

PS I think it's really quite nice.

Not something I'd go for personally but a bit different without being silly.

I like Autumn Rose if we are choosing nature type names?
