Middle name for Beatrice

Due DD2 v soon and trying to finalise a name decision as last time I was hopeless at making decisions the other side!

We have a Harriet ( Hattie) Rose.

This was our shortlist for number 2;

Beatrice
Juliet
Pippa
Alice
Grace
Kate
Jessica

Pretty sure Beatrice is the front runner but what for middle name? Do we use one of the others in the list? Elizabeth is a family name we could use but not essential. I think Beatrice Elizabeth is a bit bulky though..

DD1 has a second middle name, a family one so slightly feel should give this baby two also but perhaps not..

Our surname is two syllables...

Opinions gratefully received!

Beatrice Kate from your list

Or Beatrice May

Manumission · 31/12/2016 08:12

Beatrice May.

It goes perfectly.

Or Beatrice Maud?

I know Rose and May get a bad press for being v commonly used as middle names, but they work perfectly with your lovely first names.

MrsMontgomerySmythe · 31/12/2016 08:13

I think Beatrice Grace works best from your list. I also love Alice as a name.

calzone · 31/12/2016 08:13

Beatrice Kate would work......

Beatrice May
Beatrice Grace
Beatrice Jo
Beatrice Anne

What family name would you use? I quite like middle names to be family names......

Beatrice Edie Kate
Beatrice Eliza Jane
Beatrice Mary Anne

Love Beatrice by the way.

Cosmicglitterpug · 31/12/2016 08:14

Beatrice Pearl
Beatrice Grace
Beatrice Viola
Like Beatrice Maud too.

Manumission · 31/12/2016 08:15

I would try for a one syllable middle name. Definitely. The rhythm works so well. Same as your DD1's name.

Beatrice /_
Harriet. Rose /

I like Beatrix Grace best from your list.

Hippychickster · 31/12/2016 08:16

Beatrice Joy?

Beatrice is lovely, but I think needs a one syllable name to follow. I love Joy because it's so … joyful!

beela · 31/12/2016 08:17

Beatrice (autocorrect, sorry!)

OliviaStabler · 31/12/2016 08:17

Beatrice Grace.

ICanCountToOneHundred · 31/12/2016 08:17

Joy

Cross post with Hippy

stillwantrachelshair · 31/12/2016 08:19

Beatrice Eleanor
Beatrice Catherine

inneedofaliein · 31/12/2016 08:26

I think Joy would be lovely but am wary of the BJ initials.. Confused

I agree that one syllable is best but is Grace ok with the same "ce" ending?

The family name we'd use would be Elizabeth..

Harriet is Harriet Rose __ ( two syllable family name). I am not dead set on using a family name tbh. I only did for DD1 due to a bereavement at the time which felt right.

What does your surname begin with? I would avoid any middle names beginning with J, M, O or S for a start. And probably I and K too!

MiriAmmerman · 31/12/2016 12:12

I know a 13yo Beatrice Charlotte, which I think is a lovely combination. I also like Beatrice Mary or Beatrice Eleanor.
I actually think 2 syllables works well - there's a nice rhythm to it.

LouiseBrooks · 31/12/2016 12:19

Elizabeth was my immediate thought. I don;t think it's bulky, to me it just sounds right.

SausageSoda · 31/12/2016 13:04

I like Beatrice Juliet or as a PP suggested, Beatrice Joy. Depending on what your surname begins with I wouldn't worry too much about BJ. Though the name Merryn means joyful so you could go with Beatrice Merryn.

Glitterous · 31/12/2016 13:43

I absolutely would worry about it! One day you'll be having at least one row about why her older sister has two middle names and she has only one which gives her the initials BJ!

Swearwolf · 31/12/2016 19:33

I actually think Elizabeth is perfect with it, not too long at all. I think it flows beautifully, and I'm all for family middle names, both of mine have them (even if they don't flow as well as they otherwise might).
