Brooklyn or Madison?

We need a name that's related to New York. These are our favourite 2 which 1 would you pick? Brooklyn or Madison?

There are some right dickheads on mn at the moment

Sorry OP, I was one of the PP who suggested other New York related names. I get now that wasn't what you wanted. I'm sure either of the names you like will suit your beautiful baby perfectly.

I really like Madison, to me Brooklyn sounds like a boys name due to Brooklyn Beckham. Madison reminds me of the film Splash which I loved.

neither would be my first choice but of the two I prefer Madison.

I think giving her a name as a nod to her birth mum is a lovely idea.

I prefer Madison to Brooklyn and I think it's a name that works well in both countries.

If DH likes Brooke as a nn, have you considered it as a first name and Lynn as a middle name perhaps

I'm a Madison nn Maddy. Only ever had compliments on my name :)

If it's going to be a middle name, why not choose something really New York which isn't necessarily a name e.g. Gramercy or how about macy etc, having a cool ny middle name would be far nicer.

OP - interestingly Maddison appears in the top 100 girls names 2016 list by Bounty. So whilst I hate it, it appears that plenty of others don't

You can shorten them both I like Maddy and Brooke.
