We need a name that's related to New York. These are our favourite 2 Smile which 1 would you pick? Brooklyn or Madison?

Or how about Hattie short for manhattan.

Or Annie from Annie Hall

OliviaBensonOnAGoodDay · 23/12/2016 21:54

Ellis is cute, and i like the link to Ellis Island - a fresh start and a new life full of hope for so many people. I think it could work for a girl.

Chelsea and Madison are also perfectly lovely IMO. I also quite like Waverley, as in the Waverley Inn. In the US you won't get such a closed minded response to unusual names.

No Navy, she wants the baby that she gave birth to, to have a name that represents where she was born.

Going for the name of the hospital she was born in could be an option?

I know a guy that's called Brigham because of that... and a girl that's called Bethesda...

I prefer Brooklyn out of the two as I'm not keen on Maddie

Coey2016 · 23/12/2016 22:21

Madison. I do quite like Brooklyn too!

heateallthebuns · 23/12/2016 22:24

Ellis is much nicer than Brooklyn or madison imo. It's definitely a girls name. Brooklyn is not a girls name?!

Vixxfacee · 23/12/2016 22:26

I would go for Brooklyn. I can't believe some of the suggestions here. Op is coming with brooklyn or madison and is getting suggestions like Carol or Waverley Grin

namesstress2323 · 23/12/2016 22:30

ask her birth mothers favourite

MissKG · 23/12/2016 22:31

I was just going to say I like Maddison, but you said over page ,'it won't be Maddison?' Hmm Confused

MissKG · 23/12/2016 22:33

Maddison or Brooklyn? Erm No...Carol/Waverley Grin Grin you gotta laugh.

Cel982 · 23/12/2016 22:33

Madison is nice, is more classic and will not date in the same way Brooklyn will, I think. It's a lovely gesture you're making.

ChocoChou · 23/12/2016 22:36

Madison is a lovely name Op!
Congratulations Flowers

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 23/12/2016 22:39

Could you go with Brooke as first name, Lynn as middle name? Madison is better than Brooklyn, if it is one of those two.

newdaynewnane · 23/12/2016 22:39

The spelling.

cornflowerblu · 23/12/2016 22:47

They're both fairly dreadful but go for Madison so that at least you can call her Maddie.

MissKG · 23/12/2016 23:01

Cornflower that's very unpleasant.

MissKG · 23/12/2016 23:02

Newday Thanks. I'm going crossed eyed on the mulled wine Grin

1horatio · 23/12/2016 23:03

crossed

That's so rude.

Horseshoe1 · 23/12/2016 23:12

Madison! Much nicer. Congratulations!

Fernanie · 23/12/2016 23:14

What a lovely way to honour the birth mother! Agree with Madison / Maddie. Also agree that Americans seem to be less opinionated about what names other people give to their children. I have family in America with some very unusual (to British ears) names but they suit them down to a T and no-one over there bats an eyelid at them. Congratulations on your little girl 😊

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 23/12/2016 23:19

I like Maddie so Madison.

Deadsouls · 23/12/2016 23:20

Madison is the best of the two though not keen on either
