I say it with 3 syllables, but it's supposed to only be 2? Confused

To me it's WILL-yum. I don't have a particularly RP accent though.

heymammy · 28/11/2016 23:23

Will-yum here too (Scottish)

CondensedMilkSarnies · 28/11/2016 23:24

Will yum . South East here

TheRollingCrone · 28/11/2016 23:24

Will-yum
I have no idea if that's correct or not
I like it said Will e am (if that's how you say it) lovely name

wwoonn · 28/11/2016 23:24

DH is Welsh and says Will-yum, but I'm from Kent, if that makes any difference Grin

DramaAlpaca · 28/11/2016 23:26

I say it with three syllables.

Permanentlyexhausted · 28/11/2016 23:26

Will-ee-um. It definitely has 3 syllables when I say it.

wwoonn · 28/11/2016 23:26

Obviously not that then Grin

I was Williams once upon a time and I say it with 3 syllables, Willy um.

PinkiePiesCupcakes · 28/11/2016 23:27

Will-ee-um.
I'm a midlander / northern type though.

AmyInTheBoonies · 28/11/2016 23:27

Three syllables for me. Will-ee-um.

EBearhug · 28/11/2016 23:28

Wil-ee-Um or Will-yum.

chatnanny · 28/11/2016 23:29

Will yum here. (West Country roots).

imnervous · 28/11/2016 23:30

Both DH and I say Will-e-yum. I'm originally from the north and DH is from Surrey

EstelleRoberts · 28/11/2016 23:31

Will-e-yum. I'm from London.

CondensedMilkSarnies · 28/11/2016 23:31

Actually the more I say it out loud I think I add a very quick ee in the middle

TinselTwins · 28/11/2016 23:31

Will-Yam.

I thought everyone did Confused.. just me then?

ShatnersBassoon · 28/11/2016 23:32

Three syllables. I have a friend called William, and he doesn't like being called Will-yum.

Ontopofthesunset · 28/11/2016 23:35

It's sort of in between Will-yum and Will-ee-yum. It's a very short, almost elided middle vowel. It's not three distinct syllables.

Bambambini · 28/11/2016 23:35

2 syllables Will- yum. The second syllable is a bit drawn out with a bit of a ye though.

IneedAqueenMortificadoNickname · 28/11/2016 23:35

Mostly Will I Am but when I'm being serious it's will ee um

lottiegarbanzo · 28/11/2016 23:35

Will-ee-um but the ee is very short.

Will-yum makes me think of Clarrie Grundy in the Archers and her 'country bumpkin' accent.

HeCantBeSerious · 28/11/2016 23:35

I'm Welsh and say Will-e-um.
