I know they are totally different types of names, but we love them both. Also in the mix is Martha or Marianne. Any thoughts?

Agnes is so lovely! I love Martha too.

They do seem very different. Daisy is quite girlie and Agnes is quite maiden aunt-ish.

Marianne is my fave. Beautiful name. Beautiful Leonard Cohen song to go with it.

Oh and there's a gorgeous Tom Waits song called Martha. So that works for me too!

idontlikealdi · 26/11/2016 19:22

Agnes - I know a little one and always think it's lovely. I don't like daisy, I don't see it as an adult name.

GeillisTheWitch · 26/11/2016 19:22

Daisy. Don't like Agnes at all.

Daisy

I adore Marianne, it's beautiful.

I like Agnes, but I've never been keen on Martha.

Daisy is too twee & sweet sounding for me.

In order of my preference

Martha
Marianne
Agnes
Diasy

Polly99 · 26/11/2016 19:27

Agnes is preferable to Daisy.
I love Marianne, quite keen on Martha but I think it is more common than Marianne.

allegretto · 26/11/2016 19:27

Agnes! I wanted Agnese (the Italian equivalent) but my friend had just used it. It's a lovely name.

KlingybunFistelvase · 26/11/2016 19:43
  1. Agnes
  2. Daisy (like this as much as Agnes, but it is too well used where I live which has put me off it a little)
  3. Martha (lovely, but where I live it would become Marffa which I don't like at all)
  4. Marianne (I really dislike this but think I'm in the minority)!
AmyInTheBoonies · 26/11/2016 19:49

I regret not calling dd Marianne so I'd say go for that. Though I got put off by the Marion confusion. You have to say Marianne right or its Marion.

As far as Agnes or Daisy. Agnes is a better name than Daisy. Much more gravitas.

Daisy

ScarletForYa · 26/11/2016 20:05

Daisy is ok.

Agnes is ugly imo.

rainbow99 · 26/11/2016 20:23

I too think Agnes is ugly, both said and written down - sorry. Therefore I would go for Daisy out of the two, but prefer Martha from your wider list

Pluto30 · 26/11/2016 20:52

Daisy is much nicer than Agnes.

I can't see the appeal of Agnes at all.

Martha is nice too.

LestatVonGaribaldi · 26/11/2016 20:53

Marianne or Daisy

MollyHuaCha · 26/11/2016 20:59

Agnes. It's a lovely name.

airedailleurs · 26/11/2016 21:04

How about Ines (a version of Agnes)? Don't really like Agnes as the consonants sound clumsy together.

Really like Martha; Daisy and Marianne are ok.

How do they work with your surname?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 26/11/2016 21:07
