My grandma had a cat called that. I like it.

ICanTuckMyBoobsInMyPockets · 15/11/2016 19:18

"That's an evil baby"

Sorry.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 15/11/2016 19:22

DS has a friend called Silas. I like it.

ElsaAintAsColdAsMe · 15/11/2016 19:24

Hollyoaks serial killer. Sorry.

sidonie1 · 15/11/2016 19:25

I love it! Really wanted to use it but my husband thinks it sounds too much like a baddie.

Bertucci · 15/11/2016 19:25

I completely love it, despite bad memories of Silas Marner at school.

Have never seen Hollyoaks.

KlingybunFistelvase · 15/11/2016 19:26

I quite like it. I don't watch holloaks but was there a villain in something else called Silas? Was it that superhero thing with Haydn Pannetiere?

KlingybunFistelvase · 15/11/2016 19:27

Oh no sorry that was Sylar according to google!

Veggiesupremeextracheese · 15/11/2016 19:27

Hollyoaks serial killer!

DoItTooJulia · 15/11/2016 19:27

Not keen. They're always mean as characters (although Silas Marner redeemed himself) but the Dan Brown one didn't. And that one I've not heard of up thread sounds mean too.

So that'd be a no from me. (And that's if I've remembered properly!)

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 15/11/2016 19:27

I like it.

Crikeyblimey · 15/11/2016 19:27

A smallish relative of mine is called Silas. I love it, he suits it and he is lovely! Sal for short.

devilslake · 15/11/2016 19:28

I like it.

shakemysilliesout · 15/11/2016 20:41

Silage

CaoNiMa · 15/11/2016 21:30

It sounds a bit rural. Like a Somerset farmer in the 1700s.

Sophronia · 15/11/2016 21:53

I like it.

soundsystem · 15/11/2016 21:54

I like it.

BeastofCraggyIsland · 15/11/2016 22:04

It's quite a nice name but I agree with the villain thing; the murderous, self-flagellating albino monk in The Da Vinci Code is called Silas. What about Seth?

BratFarrarsPony · 15/11/2016 22:07

it doesnt have a good association to be honest...
What about Cyrus?

Shellybobbles82 · 15/11/2016 23:20

I like it x

CakeRattleandRoll · 16/11/2016 04:32

Really like it. Would have been on our list if DD had been a boy. As would Cyrus, mentioned by pp.

groovygreenwichgirl · 16/11/2016 09:03

To me it's got the same feel as Ezra so could be the next fashionable name. I really like it.
