Felix or Arthur?

Evening all,

DS2 due end of December, we have a nearly 2 year old called Theodore. Until a couple of weeks ago I had my heart set on Felix, but have started to have major wobbles over it - I've suddenly become really concerned that people / other children will take the mickey out of his name, and therefore started to consider another old favourite - Arthur. What do you all think? Am I being hormonal or is a justified concern?

Thanks Smile

Arthur goes better with Theodore.

I like Felix too. I doubt anyone will make fun of him for it. It's a fairly popular name now, and the cat associations have died down significantly.

Wishfulmakeupping · 13/11/2016 20:39

Arthur is nicer and it works better with Theodore imo

albertcampionscat · 13/11/2016 20:40

Both great.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 13/11/2016 20:41

Felix.

DramaAlpaca · 13/11/2016 20:42

Both names go really well with Theodore.

I like Arthur better, but Felix is fine too.

Arthur

I love Felix! Wish we had used it as a first name.

Cosmicglitterghoul · 13/11/2016 20:46

Felix

user1470686892 · 13/11/2016 20:48

Both not to my taste but prefer Arthur because I did automatically think cat.

Chinlo · 13/11/2016 20:55

Love Felix!! And not a fan of Arthur at all.

Also think Felix goes better with Theodore. With Arthur it would be too many -th- sounds.

Sophronia · 13/11/2016 21:18

I prefer Arthur

CyrilSneer30 · 13/11/2016 21:38

Thank you all! Arthur seems to be edging it, although I did have the same thoughts about the 'th' sounds chinlo...

I guess I know where my heart is now as I'm finding myself a bit gutted about it! I do love Arthur, can't figure out why I love Felix so much. Suppose we're going to have to wait for him to arrive and see what we think then! Another possible was Tobias, but as our Theodore is known as Teddy I thought it far too twee to have a Toby as well. This is by far my husband's favourite so haven't completely discounted it!

I prefer Arthur but Felix goes better with Theodore. (Felix is probably a great name, I just associate it with someone who gives it a less than good press.)

HardcoreLadyType · 13/11/2016 21:43

Felix.

This was an absolute front runner for DS.

I'm not so keen on Arthur, to be honest, but it's a good solid name.

notangelinajolie · 13/11/2016 21:45

Felix

Buntysoven · 13/11/2016 23:11

Felix. Great meaning too.

CakeRattleandRoll · 14/11/2016 00:00

Love Felix.
But quite like Arthur too.

Coey2016 · 14/11/2016 06:09

I like both. Know one little Felix and one little Arthur. I don't think Felix would cause them any problems. Whichever you go for will be great in my opinion

Gruffalosfriend · 14/11/2016 06:43

I prefer Arthur. Felix is such a well known cat good brand.

abear · 14/11/2016 06:55

DS aged 10 is called Felix and as far as I know has never been teased about his name, if that helps.

Raines100 · 14/11/2016 07:00

Love Felix! Love Theodore, too.

Don't like Arthur.

AnnetteKertan · 14/11/2016 08:20

I love how you've chosen two favourite cat food brand names. I may as well add Jasper, the archetypal cat name according to mnWink

I prefer Felix but if Teddy ever decides to go by Theo, Theo and Felix is a bit of a tongue twister.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 14/11/2016 08:40

Theodore and Felix sound much better together.

KlingybunFistelvase · 14/11/2016 08:57

Love both! Slightly prefer Felix I think, but it's pretty even.

DerelictMyBalls · 14/11/2016 09:39

Teddy and Toby sound lovely together.

I prefer Arthur to Felix: it's more classic-sounding to my ears (and I have a cat, so Felix makes me think of cat food).
