Er..................

LolaStarr · 16/10/2016 20:21

Miller. Never heard Dougray before Hmm

Soapalert · 16/10/2016 20:22

I am not keen I'm afraid. I like Douglas though, with nn Douggy

Vixxfacee · 16/10/2016 20:23

I like Miller or even Ray.

booellesmum · 16/10/2016 20:23

Honestly - neither.
Really not keen on Dougray.
Miller is nice but I just keep thinking of Windy Miller.

ErrolTheDragon · 16/10/2016 20:25

Dougray Scott was the lead in Enigma wasn't he? Its OK.
But Douglas is much nicer.

Miller is a surname.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 16/10/2016 20:28

Ray ! 😄
It would have to be Miller.

LuckySantangelo1 · 16/10/2016 20:28

MissOrganisedMe · 16/10/2016 20:31

That's it Lucky. I want a 'solid' name.

Miller is beer.

RiverTam · 16/10/2016 21:51

Dougray. Dougray Scott is lush.

gunting · 16/10/2016 21:57

How do you say dougray?

Loyly · 16/10/2016 21:58

Dougray.

Onedaftmonkey · 16/10/2016 22:03

Yikes. Neither. And I suspect they would get bullied for such names at school. I mean for gods sake not Caden Jaden or Haden. But something that isn't bully worthy. Douglas or Alexander. I'm not a fuddy duddy but sometimes I wander if being "out their " with names is a crap shoot. Your dammed if you do.. Don't make them hate you till their over 21 it's just not worth it. Sorry Blush

Chinlo · 16/10/2016 22:06

My thoughts are:

Dougray sounds like two names mashed together. Might as well call him Tomjohn or Alexjack. I know there's an actor with this name but I think his parents probably made it up, didn't they? Anyway I don't like it.

Miller is a surname and I hate surnames as first names.

Those are just my thoughts.

Coey2016 · 16/10/2016 22:15

I like Dougray. I think of Dougray Scott who I like.

I like Miller too, though I think Dougray would edge it for me.

But I like both!

RiverTam · 16/10/2016 22:49

I've just read that Dougray was his French grandmother's surname that he took as a stage name as he couldn't use his actual name (Stephen). Which is interesting, I'd assumed it was perhaps an old variant of Douglas or something like that.

So there you go, Dougray nn Steve.

MotherDuckSaid · 17/10/2016 10:35

I think on the whole children just want normal names , growing up is hard enough as it is !

Elbi · 17/10/2016 11:05

I think a some people would say 'Doogray' rather than 'Duggray'... So you'd have to be okay with that!

PotatoBread · 17/10/2016 11:57

I prefer Dougary. I do pronounce it Doogray though as that's what I thought was right even though I pronounce Douglas Dug-glas.

Jojo13 · 17/10/2016 12:16

Really like Miller.

WanderingTrolley1 · 17/10/2016 12:17

Interesting names...

minipie · 17/10/2016 12:26

Dougray

Namenamenamename · 17/10/2016 13:33

Sometimes I wonder if everyone on Mumsnet lives in tiny all white all middle class villages where children are taught to recoil at anything different from themselves. No one gets bullied for their name where I live! I'd never heard Dougray before but it's a nice name.
