Love it!

In fact if we have a girl we are planning on Dottie after my Nan who was Dorothy

rememberpurpleronnie · 12/10/2016 02:47

Sorry, hate it, makes me think of a 50yo librarian.

iloveberries · 12/10/2016 02:50

Love it

groovergirl · 12/10/2016 03:34

Due for a comeback.
Just warn your Dorothy that if she ever visits Australia she'll be dubbed Doz or Dorro.

WanderingTrolley1 · 12/10/2016 03:39

I think it's an awful old-fashioned (not-in-a-good-way) name.

Optimist3 · 12/10/2016 04:29

Dislike Dorothy but delphine is nice.

JammieDodgem · 12/10/2016 04:49

I like it and would use Dory as nn

treaclesoda · 12/10/2016 05:22

I like it, and I love the nickname Dottie. Smile

drinkyourmilk · 12/10/2016 05:24

It's on our possible list too. I love the nn dot.

Optimist3 · 12/10/2016 07:01

Dotty and dotty is a nickname for Theodora too

Optimist3 · 12/10/2016 07:02

Dot and dotty

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 12/10/2016 07:06

I like it. May I ask what your other names are OP ?

SquirrelPaws · 12/10/2016 07:07

I like it.

SquirrelPaws · 12/10/2016 07:07

Oops, pressed send to soon. It was on my list for DD, but DH vetoed it. Same with Sylvia.

Millionreasons · 12/10/2016 08:09

Dorothy is old fashioned even for 50 year olds! Awful name sorry.

It was my nan's name. she would have been in her 90s and even she hated it.

MeMeMyMy · 12/10/2016 08:16

It's cute! Wizard of Oz connotations though. Going to Kansas?, there's no place like home, where's Toto...Still would use it if you like it.

In Cider with Rosie, Laurie's sister is Dorothy, nn Doth.

UntilTheCowsComeHome · 12/10/2016 08:19

I like it. It's my brother's cat's name.

She gets called Dot, Dotty, Doz or Dozzer Smile

CocoLoco87 · 12/10/2016 08:30

I prefer Dorothea...

CEOD · 12/10/2016 08:40

i LOVE Dorothy!

horseygeorgie1 · 12/10/2016 08:47

I love Dorothy!

ReadTheWholeFred · 12/10/2016 08:49

I like. I like Dorothea even more. Dorothea can be Dora, Thea, Doro, Dodo (like in Moddlemarch), Dotty, Dot.

gammatron · 12/10/2016 08:50

Love it, if I have a daughter in the future it will be on my list!

onlyconnect · 12/10/2016 08:51

Love it

GinIsIn · 12/10/2016 08:52

I love it!

BakeOffBiscuits · 12/10/2016 08:55

I love it!

But can I just add something for the youngsters in here. I'm 50 and don't know a single person called Dorothy so it certainly isn't a "50 year old name".
It's more of an 80/90 year old name. It's still beautiful though.
