James or Samuel?

I'm 32 weeks with baby number 1, we don't know gender but have finally settled on a girl's name. For a boy we are torn between these two, which would you pick and why?

James. Mainly cos I just don't like the name Samuel. Sorry!

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 11/10/2016 18:20

James

Loyly · 11/10/2016 18:21

Samuel cos I don't like James Grin
Depends on surname / initials, also if you like "Sam" or "J" as they will get shortened. (The James that I know is often called Jim-Jam)

Tanfastic · 11/10/2016 18:48

I'd have to say Samuel....but then I am slightly biased Grin

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 11/10/2016 18:52

James.

insancerre · 11/10/2016 18:56

Samuel
Because I have one
Though he does get Sam all the time

James

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 11/10/2016 19:03

James (biased). Ours is generally known as JD (also using middle initial)

Chinlo · 11/10/2016 19:07

Samuel. James is traditional in a boring way whereas Samuel is traditional in a cool way.

Ohdofuckoffplease · 11/10/2016 19:11

Samuel is lovely. I do like James, but know so many it's put me off a little.

CEOD · 11/10/2016 19:54

I love them both - sorry , not helpful Iknow!

celebrityskin · 11/10/2016 19:55

James Samuel?

ColourfulOrangex · 11/10/2016 19:57

My cousin is called Samuel James, I prefer James though but could be because I'm not keen on my cousin Hmm

Garthmarenghi · 11/10/2016 20:45

Both fabulous names.

Sophronia · 11/10/2016 22:56

Love both.

DramaAlpaca · 11/10/2016 22:58

James, because it's my favourite name for a boy.

MissTakesOurMaid · 11/10/2016 23:13

James. Favourite boy's name. Smile

Soozikinzi · 11/10/2016 23:16

Love both but I do have a son called Samuel Aaron Matthew so his initials are Sam xx

Myfanwyprice · 11/10/2016 23:16

Samuel 100%!

MotherDuckSaid · 12/10/2016 06:39

Samuel 💙

CPtart · 12/10/2016 06:45
