What are your favourite ones? Boy or girl. Anything out of the top few hundred names. Smile

I'm looking for inspiration! My name tastes run to most things, particularly love anything Italian, pretty girls names, anything nature related or strong boys names. TIA!

I like Elspeth. I'm also a huge Tolkien fan, as is my partner, so Arwen is very much a name I love. My partner wants Thorin for a boy which I have to say I'm quite taken with.

Eglantine. Wish I'd had the courage to use it.

I know someone with a name pronounced peer-a-det not sure how it's spelt is that how you would pronounce peridot? I've always thought the T is silent.

my own dc have very boring plain traditional English names - probably a subconscious rebellion against my less than common first name.

But I still love lots of unusua/less traditional l names

My son is Magnus and we always get complements on the name especially as he is such a big strong baby.

Minerva and Ylva. And Castor, but that's a huge no-no in any English speaking country...

And I've always loved the name Belatrix. And I was super upset when I realised that a certain villain got this awesome name.
I also love the name Peregrine. Not sure if it's unusual, but DW refuses to even consider it...

scrivette · 09/10/2016 22:05

Henley and Riven for a boy (Riven rhymes with my surname so couldn't use it)

Autumn and Serendipity for a girl (my parents are relieved I didn't have a girl as DH and I really love the latter!!)

Arwen and Thorin are great names!

RichardHead · 09/10/2016 22:05

I know a Ramona, two Hester's and a Magnus. Love all three of those names!
