Um, hugely in the minority here but I'm not really a massive fan of such well-used and significant words as names... We know a little girl called Summer and her little head was on a swivel all, erm, summer as she thought she was being called or talked about! 
I am possibly also a bit biased as the first syllable of my name is a very commonplace word (especially used in school!) and I had the exact same.... didn't help that I was a little toerag and so constantly thought I was about be told off
I know other 'everyday' words are names - eg rose, daisy, etc - but people talk about the seasons way more often and I honestly think it would get annoying, especially to a child.
