I'll start:

Thaddeus
Salcombe (Hardy of the drowned violet eyes in the Peter Wimsey stories)
Malachi.

Our surname is harsh sounding Irish and really doesn't sound as nice as the Ines suggested.

QueenLizIII · 14/09/2016 23:20

Clemency. Consensus following thread on here was that it blew

albertcampionscat · 14/09/2016 23:22

Clemency is wonderful. Although you do need a moat.

Diana. Adore the name but even now people would just think of the princess.

LifeIsGoodish · 14/09/2016 23:26

Ambrose

I think "masculine version of 'ambrosia', implying gorgeousness, perfection".

Dh says "Hell, no! Rice pudding!"

Chunkamatic · 14/09/2016 23:29

Astrid

Hephzibah

I had two boys

DramaAlpaca · 14/09/2016 23:29

Seraphina, Clementine and Evangeline.

I adore those names, but a) I had all boys, and b) DH would have exercised his veto.

smileyhappypeople · 15/09/2016 00:40

I love tiger lily! Would never actually use it though

Woodyblueeyes · 15/09/2016 00:48

Bathsheba and Murdo - actually wanted my son to be called Murdo but my husband won the argument in the recovery room directly after my c-section. Devious bastard.

AstronautMikeDexter · 15/09/2016 00:53

I really don't get how Ophelia is so popular. It's certainly a pretty name, but she was such a tragic character. Can't be a good namesake, surely...?

IneedAdinosaurNickname · 15/09/2016 00:53

Posy (as in fossil in Ballet Shoes). Dp has vetoed it. :(

katemess12 · 15/09/2016 01:06

Astronaut You could make the same argument about Juliet, but no one ever does.

QueenLizIII · 15/09/2016 01:22

I dont get Ophelia either. Ophelia offed herself. Nice play on words.

ABCFamily · 15/09/2016 02:50

BOYS: Tarquin, Digby, Griffin, Emrys, Phineas, Hamish, Leopold
GIRLS: Myrtle, Hermione, Damaris, Hester, Jessamine, Demelza

OlennasWimple · 15/09/2016 02:56

Bathsheba (if we ever have a female cat she will be called Bathsheba)

Superstar90 · 15/09/2016 04:47

Bryony!

Rubytuesday2980 · 15/09/2016 05:07

Acer - this was my favourite name for DS all the time that I was pregnant. Love the maple trees and that it could be shortened to Ace... ...but just couldn't use it in the end because of the computers.

Loved that book dinosaur, Posy is such a sweet name.

Superstar90 · 15/09/2016 05:13

Dinosaur you could go for Rosie and have posy as her nickname (as in Rosie posy)! X

foofooyeah · 15/09/2016 05:20

I know a Murdo ..... Think it's a super cool name, hadn't heard it before I met this boy.

I love Honeysuckle for a girl, but DP vetoed it (especially as we had a boy!)

Superstar90 · 15/09/2016 05:22

Woodyblueeyes - thank god for your husband! Murdo is awful - Makes me think of a murderer!
