I know two Calliope's!

n0ne · 14/09/2016 21:05

Django, after the guitarist, not the Tarantino film

StandoutMop · 14/09/2016 21:10

Ottilie, Thea, Margo, Edie, Heber, Otto, Luke - all vetoed by DH for various different reasons.

Might be one or 2 on there I'd be too chicken to use if he hadn't already said no though.

PaperdollCartoon · 14/09/2016 21:15

I know a Saskia and a Verity, and a friend of my sister is Calliope.

I can't think of anything I love that I wouldn't use, DP is the issue. I'm trying to wear him down on Jago or Cosmo 😊

fitzbilly · 14/09/2016 21:16

Beau

CharminglyGawky · 14/09/2016 21:20

Peregrine, fist heard it in a Georgette Heyer book as a young teen and then obviously Pippin in Lord of the Rings. I really really love the name but would probably never use it other than for a dog!

Gracey79 · 14/09/2016 21:22

Aurora
Luna

lilypond1 · 14/09/2016 21:23

Jago, Honor and Margaux! I love all these names!

SpunBodgeSquarepants · 14/09/2016 21:30

Fox. Oh I'd love to have a little Fox, but don't think any son of mine could pull it off. Goes so well with DS's name Felix too.

HeyMicky · 14/09/2016 21:31

Ava and Constance - won't work with the surname

Clara for the same reason - sound alike you're gargling

Adelaide - I'm Australian and it's too obvious

reallyanotherone · 14/09/2016 21:32

Jethro.

Jezebel.

Love both names, but, well...

Longdistance · 14/09/2016 21:33

I really loved Grace, but our surname dh's starts with a Gr.

Yeah, grrrr from me for not being able to use it.

softboiledeggs · 14/09/2016 21:34

Avery
Bruce
Bernard

Biscuitsneeded · 14/09/2016 21:37

Fabian. I really like it for some reason but it is FAR too posh to actually use.

WatchMeSoar · 14/09/2016 21:39

India

CinderellaFant · 14/09/2016 21:44

Long is it Green? Grace Green sounds fab!!

katemess12 · 14/09/2016 21:49

I loved Ophelia for DD. But was told I couldn't use it because of the teasing potential. I've known some people with weird names in my life, and I don't recall any of them being made fun of for them... Sad

I liked Aldous for a boy, but couldn't get past the debate about the pronunciation. I've always thought it was pronounced AL-dus, like Albus (Dumbledore), but I've seen a lot of others say it's ALL-dus. Hmm

PotatoBread · 14/09/2016 21:51

Arrietty
Clementine
Bonnie
Ette

All vetoed by DP. Saying that I can't imagine DD suiting any of those names now that she is born

crayfish · 14/09/2016 21:53

Madeleine. I love the name and love Maddie as a nn but we have a surname that would make me never use it...

roseteapot101 · 14/09/2016 21:55

Arthur or Rupert but my other half does not like them at least if we ever have a son he has accepted naming him after my father

SleepyRoo · 14/09/2016 21:55

Anouk. Gloria. Jean.

RosyfingeredDawn · 14/09/2016 22:06

Long, there is a character in the Ruby Redfort books called Grace Grapello. Sounds fab.

albertcampionscat · 14/09/2016 22:14

Another yes for Marnie, and Grace Gr-surname could really work.

Oysterbabe · 14/09/2016 22:17

Gulliver
Darwin

DH absolutely hates them.

Angiepoise · 14/09/2016 23:06

Dante!
So utterly dreamy... But too frilly for us.
