As the title says. Were you watching a movie and fell in love with a name. Both my LO names are movie character names. So I'm curious :)

Yes it would appear so, subconsciously. Only realised when I got home from hospital and saw the book I'd been reading on the kitchen table. It was a pretty trashy blockbuster too Blush
(Although in my defence it's a classic name that I've always liked Grin)

Not a film, but a book for dd's first and middle name. Both got made into films so....

Dss name was inspired by a friend son but no idea if they got it from anywhere.

rackhampearl · 12/09/2016 18:13

Heeee. I'm so curious of these names now lol.

Well I'll tell you what mine was, it's a pretty popular one - Sophie. I was reading The Da Vinci Code Blush. DH wanted Hermione (after the actress Hermione Norris) but there was too much Harry Potter hype around at the time.
We thought we were getting a boy anyway, we were going to call him Louis!

rackhampearl · 12/09/2016 18:26

Ah I agree SingingSands, what a lovely classic name.

After a book character here too!

Shockers · 12/09/2016 18:35

DD's first and middle names are both characters from books.

NapQueen · 12/09/2016 18:37

My dd's first name is the eldest sister in Little Women, and her middle name is the girl who followed the white rabbit.

iklboo · 12/09/2016 18:53

Although, to be fair, my name is also part of a famous actor's name. I'd I had been a bit I'd have been called Christopher Lee.

DH is also named after two TV characters.

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 12/09/2016 19:02

Yes, after a character in a book.

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 12/09/2016 19:04

It's a Jane Austen book Fwiw.

babyblabber · 12/09/2016 19:11

Yes. Was looking for a boy's name that was unusual, easy to spell, sounded nice. Watching a movie and the baddy had a name with a surname similar sounded (ish) to ours. Repeated the name out loud with our surname and although it took me months and a 2 days induction from hell to convince DH, that is DS's name.

rackhampearl · 12/09/2016 19:19

That's awesome. My LO names are Gia (after the late model Gia Carangi) Angelina Jolie starred in the biopic and DH and I fell in love with the name. And my youngest is Andie named after the cheerleader in The Goonies. Strangers tend to love our girls names. I'm a massive reader I've read everything from Lord of the Rings to Madam Bovary but I've never taken to names like I did those two. I love Andie since the 80's lol.

DD's middle name is from a book.

Pab78 · 12/09/2016 19:21

My DD is named after the Penelope Cruz character in Vanilla Sky, I just loved her character and the name.

elQuintoConyo · 12/09/2016 19:23

One of the characters from the film The Odd Couple. It suits DS down to the ground.

exLtEveDallas · 12/09/2016 19:27

DD was named after a horse! It's also a cartoon character, but that wasn't part of it.

Neither DH or DD know how I came up with her name.

(I also vetoed DHs choice of boys name because it was a film character - even though DH has never seen the film, he just liked the name Blush)

NoTractorsAtTheTable · 12/09/2016 19:28

Film/comic book for DS - and rather apt it is too! Blush

DD isn't named after anything/anyone as far as I'm aware

VeganCanBeFabulous · 12/09/2016 19:34

Yes. My husband and I fell in love with the name Amelie after watching the film. We wanted a French name to honour my French heritage but couldn't find one we like till we saw this film. It has become much more popular since but I still love it. I also loved the name Anouk (short for Anoushka) from the book Chocolat but DH wouldn't go for it.

rackhampearl · 12/09/2016 19:40

Amelie is so lovely. Beautiful. I can't say I've heard it much, Amelia and emilia I have.
