As the title says. Were you watching a movie and fell in love with a name. Both my LO names are movie character names. So I'm curious :)

We chose dd's name after we'd been watching an American football drama Blush Still adore her name.

My daughter's middle name is Chenault, after the character from the Hunter S. Thompson novel "The Rum Diary".

However, she's not named for the character, but more for Thompson, who I adore. Chenault just happens to be one of the only named female characters in his books.

Oh, I love the name Gia, btw!

Mine's Alexander, after James Alexander Malcolm MacKenzie Fraser. (Couldn't use James for...reasons.)

Not sure if my husband knows...

Adaline was on my list after watching the film of the same name withBlake Lively in it. Didn't end up calling my DD that though

MrsMargeSimpson · 12/09/2016 22:32

2 of mine are directly named after DC comic characters... Deliberately.

The other was named after a character on desperate housewives Grin

DD is named after a character in a musical/concept album type thing. Went to the live gig when I was 8 months and she started kicking when the music started.

MrsUnderwood · 12/09/2016 23:29

DD us named after a character in a film, DS after an author.

AnotherUsernameBitesTheDust · 12/09/2016 23:30

Ds1 was named after a character is Star Trek, Ds2's name came from an actor in a TV series I was watching and my youngests name came from one of my favourite childhood books that I re-read when I was pg with him.

CousinCharlotte · 12/09/2016 23:31

Yes, 2 dc's have names from my favourite Charles Dickens books.

vvviola · 12/09/2016 23:35

Like Vegan we were inspired by the film Amelie. But it just sounded wrong with our (good solid Irish) surname. So we used Amelia instead (which had the added bonus of a nod towards Amelia Earhart - which suited us for other reasons).

Strangely, despite people claiming how popular it has become over the past few years, we've yet to meet another one.

MiddleClassProblem · 12/09/2016 23:41

MrsMargeSimpson the DC/desperate housewives could cross over because of Teri Hatcher so it totally makes sense Grin

FedUpBird · 12/09/2016 23:54

My DD is named after Agent Lucy from despicable me Grin

Calmisthemantra · 13/09/2016 20:16

Watched a series in 2010 called Any human heart and loved the lead female characters name. Kept it stored up for when we had children and used it for my dd in 2012

Strokethefurrywall · 14/09/2016 16:40

DS2 is named after an Aussie actor.

Was watching the show he was in, growling lustfully at him firing guns and generally oozing masculinity and then thought "ooh I really love his name!"

Mentioned it to DH and he liked the name too and so that's how DS2 got his name. DH just tells people that we "named him after that bloke that Stroke fancies off that show".

NonStopNeuroticCabaret · 14/09/2016 16:43

DS1's middle name is a character from The Wicker Man.
