No it's not.

buttercup54321 · 06/09/2016 17:54

I know a very naughty boy called Ethan. He is also cute lol

Bagina · 06/09/2016 17:56

Not particularly, but it's ridiculously popular. You didn't ask that, I know.

I've taught three Ethan's. All lovely, lively , bright little boys.

Foxtato · 06/09/2016 18:07

I really like Ethan, also Evan.

Caldini22 · 06/09/2016 18:16

No not a naughty boy name in my opinion

Bluesand1 · 06/09/2016 18:19

Not a naughty boy name
All the Ethans I know come from very nice families

Reindeerlily · 06/09/2016 18:26

Before I'd even read the thread I was going to say the name Ethan is a naughty boy name.

LollyMcLolface · 06/09/2016 18:30

I think the majority of names are neither posh nor "chavvy" (not a word I use). It's all about context. I live in a really deprived area and whilst there are lots of the names always trotted out on mumsnet as being "chavvy" there are also plenty of Charlies, Harrys, Alfies and other names that are just as likely to be found in naice areas. If a name is popular (which Ethan is) then it's probably because it has a broad appeal. Therefore you will have a real mix of children with those names. If you aren't "chavvy" and your other child's name isn't "chavvy" then Ethan won't sound "chavvy".

monkeygone · 06/09/2016 18:30

My nephew is Ethan and he's not a naughty child.

Bluesand1 · 06/09/2016 18:44

Just remembered I met a very posh lady with an Ethan the other week actually

srslylikeomg · 06/09/2016 18:48

I have a girl with a 'th' sound in the name and wanted to warn you that he will be called Eefan by all his peers until he is five.

Spaghettidog · 06/09/2016 18:49

Is 'naughty boy name' some kind of code for 'unashamedly working class'?

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 06/09/2016 18:54

I don't like it, which is strange as I always imagine a sweet mild mannered little boy. Who is very eager to please. When i hear this name.
Naughty boy names to me are.
Mason
Jaiden
Reuben
Callum

sandylion · 06/09/2016 18:57

No its a nice name. Modern but not made up.

Sophronia · 06/09/2016 18:57

No, it's fine

BettyOBarley · 06/09/2016 19:01

Thanks for opinions. Didn't mean to sound snobby - naughty isn't code for working class, but I've worked with kids and some names do seem to cluster in kids with behavioural problems! I like Laurie but dp not keen and only 1 day left to decide... Ethan is Hebrew so must be old.

Naught boy connotations here, in the same vein as Callum and Daniel. Definitely not modern names, but those I've come across have all been challenging....

LynetteScavo · 07/09/2016 12:45

None of the Ethan's I know are naughty. one is ridiculously lively though

PoisonWitch · 07/09/2016 18:09

All the Ethans I taught (4) were very naughty and two criminal.

Bluesand1 · 07/09/2016 18:13

All the Williams I taught were nightmares does that mean everyone is naughty?

SteviebunsBottrittrundle · 07/09/2016 18:18

No.
