I love them both.

I believe MN thinks Savannah a little ch......(hate the ch word!)

albertcampionscat · 04/09/2016 16:44

Romilly.

AntiHop · 04/09/2016 16:45

Romilly

I decided when I was 10 that if I ever had a daughter I'd call her Savannah, so the name has been with me for over 20 years. But I love Romilly too. I'm not too bothered if MN thinks it's a bit too ch....word! Grin

Love them both. Dd2 has pals with them names. Romilly Ray and Savannah Jane

MrsHulk · 04/09/2016 17:02

Romully

MrsHulk · 04/09/2016 17:02

Misspelt! I wasn't suggesting a wacky new version.

PunkAssMoFo · 04/09/2016 17:09

Romilly. It will stand the time test better.

Grapefruit8 · 04/09/2016 17:11

Romilly. Love it!

Runningupthathill82 · 04/09/2016 17:13

As long as you're from nowhere near Stockport, Romilly is fine!
But up north it'd be a definite no. (Romiley is a town between Stockport and Ashton....)

Enkopkaffetak · 04/09/2016 17:17

Romilly is lovely I have never cared that much for Savannah but I suspect it is because I love Suzannah.

Pyrrha · 04/09/2016 17:21

Romilly is nicer I think.

Nonameyet1 · 04/09/2016 18:03

Romilly is my favourite.

JiltedJohnsJulie · 04/09/2016 18:06

Romilly but only because I had a friend with that name as a child and she was adorable.

CorkieD · 04/09/2016 18:13

I believe MN thinks Savannah a little ch......(hate the ch word!)

Ahem. Just because the Queen's oldest great-grandchild was given the Savannah shouldn't automatically mean MN considers it a little ch..

EllenDegenerate · 04/09/2016 18:31

Romilly.

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 04/09/2016 18:48

I love Savannah.

GoldPlatedBacon · 04/09/2016 19:41

I prefer Romilly but if you've always loved Savannah then ho for it!

GoldPlatedBacon · 04/09/2016 19:41

Or go for it even Blush

SandyPantz · 04/09/2016 19:43

I think it depends on you surname

I like them both but I think Savanah indicates a personal heritage with "the south" and Romilly is for everyone/anyone IYKWIM

SellFridges · 04/09/2016 19:46

Romilly. But I am biased as I have one.

If you read MN you would probably believe they are similarly popular but there are usually only about 50 Romilly's a year. Savannah is much more popular. If that bothers you.

0pti0na1 · 04/09/2016 20:00

I prefer Savannah.

MrsRaymondReddington · 04/09/2016 20:13

SellFridges - Yeah, there was a thread that said Romilly was too much of a 'now' name that will be ridiculously popular soon. Not according to http://names.darkgreener.com/ Smile

Do you have a NN for your Romilly?

SandyPantz · 04/09/2016 20:15

I do think that Romilly is very "2016" TBH, even if it's not topping the name charts its in the genre of names that's very "now". but that wouldn't put me off if I liked it
