OH is Brazilian and we live in Brazil. Bento is a very old Portuguese name.

Does it sounds ridiculous in English though? What with it being kind of almost the word "bent"? Shock Blush

What is this Japanese lunchbox of which you speak ? I've never heard of that, but I'm still in the no camp, simply because I think it would be cruel to call a child who may end up living in an English speaking country, anything that people are going to hear / call him 'bent'

I am surprised you have never come across bento boxes in Brazil given the huge Japanese community there and the popularity of Japanese restaurants. I had never tasted Japanese food before I went to live in São Paulo for 6 months many years ago. Perhaps the term is less commonly used in Brazilian Japanese restaurants than English ones but chances are it may signify Japanese food to a lot of Brazilians too.

Thiago is great. There was an actor in a telenovela shown when I lived there called Thiago Lacerda. He was dreamy.
