Have always loved the name Jax for a boy? I'm 16 weeks pregnant so still unsure of the sex at present but we have definitely decided on a name for a girl but still pondering on the name Jax for a boy!

The middle name would be George.

Thoughts pleaseSmile

I like them individually but not together.

cookielove · 17/08/2016 16:43

Prefer Jaxon to Jax, Jax is awful not to my taste!

George is very cute 😁

DerelictMyBalls · 17/08/2016 16:44

George is lovely!

purplefox · 17/08/2016 16:44

I don't like Jax and definitely not with George.

PotteringAlong · 17/08/2016 16:45

I don't like it personally but if you like it go for it. But I definitely wouldn't put it with the middle name George.

DaisyFranceLynch · 17/08/2016 16:58

Would you consider Jackson (nn. Jax?) George?

I think it flows better than Jax George, but also prefer Jackson as a name (Jax sounds a bit like a brand name to me for some reason). Jack is lovely too, although don't think it works with George.

FellOutOfBed2wice · 17/08/2016 17:00

I think Jackson George would work or George Jackson but Jax makes me think of Vax, the Hoover folk. It's very harsh sounding.

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 17/08/2016 17:02

My nephew's best friend is called Jax.
Lovely name. However I wouldn't put it with George. However you could put another middle name inbetween to break it up
Say Jax Adam George ...........

timelytess · 17/08/2016 17:05

Jax? Where are you living? Is it a name? To me it ranks with Teddie-Blue.

Trixieceratops · 17/08/2016 17:07

If you like it, go for it. It's very popular at the moment (in real life if not on MN) and i think it's one of those names that's very much of the moment. But Jax George doesn't flow nicely- I'd be included to go for Jaxon/Jackson George instead.

SuburbanRhonda · 17/08/2016 17:08

Sorry, it sounds like brand of household cleaner.

TheRealAdaLovelace · 17/08/2016 17:08

it is terrible - would you call him 'Jaxie'? You do know what that means right?

YorkieDorkie · 17/08/2016 17:11

I know a Jax, I remember thinking it was unusual. I'm not that keen on the name but it's only a variation on Jack which would probably be deemed perfectly acceptable. PP are right though, it doesn't go with George!

Jaimx86 · 17/08/2016 17:14

I like it ...for a girl though?

bloomburger · 17/08/2016 17:20

Dreadful, as is Jaxon.

fluentinsarcasm · 17/08/2016 17:22

I agree with calling him Jackson. You can then call him Jax as a nn. This will give him more options when he grows up and going for interviews etc. He can pick which he prefers....Jackson, Jack, Jax, Sonny.

Goingtobeawesome · 17/08/2016 17:25

George is lovely.

Don't think Jax George flows nicely but doesn't matter unless you plan to hyphenate.

Have what you want.

Is Jax even a name or is it a made up one?

Jaxson is one I've seen. Awful. But then I'm biased as I had to spell my name for years and now have to spell my surname instead.

leccybill · 17/08/2016 17:32

Jax sounds too much like a household brand name to me, like Vax or Daz.

BusStopBetty · 17/08/2016 17:38

Awful. It's also a brand of industrial lubricant. www.jax.com/

SoupDragon · 17/08/2016 17:39

truly awful.

HeteronormativeHaybales · 17/08/2016 17:40

George is nice. Jax is awful, truly awful. So's Jaxon, and Jackson's not much better. Sorry.

SweetChickadee · 17/08/2016 17:41

my next door neighbor has a dog called Jax

TheSilverChair · 17/08/2016 17:41

awful

isitseptemberyet · 17/08/2016 17:43

Like George, jax sounds like some sort of badly selling cleaning product, sorry, definitely not Jax george!
