If DC3 is a girl then we have narrowed down our choices to these three names - which shall we choose? Also, please suggest a middle name to go with your favourite.

Thank you!

I have a Felicity and a Verity!

I really love the names Felicity and Verity but think Penelope is a rather clunky name and don't link the nickname penny but can't really put my finger on why. I also know three Penelope's among close family and friends children born in the last few years!!

Really not a fan of Penelope. It's sounds slightly comical to me, like a made up name in a sit com or something.

Felicity is slightly prissy but lots of nickname potentials, I like Fliss, Flick or Fizz.

Verity is nice. Girly without sounding pretentious. Would be my choice of the 3.

I like Felicity. It's kind of aristocratic. Grin

9 for Felicity, 13 for Verity, 3 for Penelope, if I've counted correctly!
5 negative Penelope votes, and one negative comment for each of the others. This is very helpful.
I think we are down to a 2 horse race, but will see what DH says...

So middle names wise, I'm not keen on a 'filler' so not Rose, Grace, May etc.

Can't have the following
Anything beginning with A,
Charlotte
Jane
Helen
Esme
Laura
Emma

Amusingly, the first two of your shortlist are my mother's name and mother in law's name! And Jane is my aunt. Funny. I like them both. Don't particularly like Verity - definitely sounds 1950s boarding school to me. I don't think my mum particularly loves her name (Felicity) - think she found it too fancy growing up, and the number of people who call her Facility (unintentionally)...! Which is annoying. But I like her name! Maybe I wouldn't if it was my name though....

Lots of possibilities with Felicity for shortenings: Fliss, Flick, Fizz, Fizzy, Liss, Lissy / Liccy/Lissie etc.

Personally I like middle names with a meaningful reason to you, so can't help!
