This was our original shortlist,

Nancy
Bonnie
Olive
Claudia
Layla
Vivienne

We had it narrowed down to Nancy or Bonnie. I'm leaning towards Nancy and DH towards Bonnie.

Thoughts and middle name suggestions welcome.

Love Bonnie, but also like Nancy... not much help :)

Betty1989 · 24/05/2016 14:08

Thanks Abit. I think that's our trouble, we like them both too!

HouseOfBiscuits · 24/05/2016 14:21

Leyla Olive

OneMagnumisneverenough · 24/05/2016 14:23

I'm not a big fan of either tbh but given the option I'd go for Nancy as I think that's better than being called Bonnie (which in Scotland means pretty) and not being bonnie. But the from your list I really only like Vivienne so obviously we don't have the same taste :)

RainbowsAndUnicorns5 · 24/05/2016 14:24

Nancy

MummaGiles · 24/05/2016 14:27

Nancy

Artandco · 24/05/2016 14:28

Not a fan of either I'm afraid

Nancy - Moany old lady
Bonnie - describing word, what if she isn't 'bonnie'?. Also a nickname more

I like Vivienne best. Vivienne Claudia, or Vivienne Olivia.

How about Constantina or Constansa with Connie as nickname?

notagiraffe · 24/05/2016 14:28

I prefer Bonnie but also like Nancy. I adore Vivienne and Claudia (Vivi, Vienne, Claudie, Claude - all nice diminutives)
When DC were born six people DH worked with had girl babies and they were called: Leyla, Lila, Leela, Lola, Lula and Laila. Put me off that names and all its variants for good.

NoncommittalToSparkleMotion · 24/05/2016 14:32

Bonnie if I chose between the 2.

Olive is my favourite.

thebestfurchinchilla · 24/05/2016 14:39

Nancy.

Betty1989 · 24/05/2016 14:39

Thanks all this is helping!

chameleon43 · 24/05/2016 14:41

Bonnie will always be Bonnie Langford for me....

sorry realise not helpful - but I do like your other names!

Betty1989 · 24/05/2016 14:42

Noncomittal do you think that Olive will be lost amongst the large number of Olivia's that must be about considering its popularity? Also, if they all get shortened to Liv...which I don't like and is the main thing putting me off Olive.

Betty1989 · 24/05/2016 14:43

Ha ha Chameleon that was a pro for me!

OneMagnumisneverenough · 24/05/2016 14:49

Maybe because I don't like olives, I really really hate it as a name - also because I'm an old duffer, it just reminds me of Olive form on the buses. Don't mind Olivia though for some reason...

minipie · 24/05/2016 14:56

Bonnie rather than Nancy. Just think it has a prettier sound, and a nice meaning.

Vivienne is my favourite though

Can't stand Olive

Zadocthepriest · 24/05/2016 15:00

Vivienne can be shortened to Veevie which has a similar sound to Nancy and Bonnie ( personally I love Nancy)

Namelessbabe · 24/05/2016 15:03

I like Claudia or Layla.
Don't like the others, and Olive would be my least favourite.

Betty1989 · 24/05/2016 15:09

We felt that both Nancy and Bonnie suited single syllable middle names (surname is two syllables). Any suggestions?

OneMagnumisneverenough · 24/05/2016 15:17

Bonnie May
Bonnie Ann
Bonnie Fay

Nancy Rose
Nancy Joy
Nancy Grace

Namelessbabe · 24/05/2016 15:25

Single syllable middle names:
Rose
May
Ann

minipie · 24/05/2016 15:32

My DDs have Fleur and Blythe as their middle names

Lweji · 24/05/2016 15:35

Between the two, Nancy.

My first thought was Nancy Rose.

squoosh · 24/05/2016 15:42

If the choice is between Nancy and Bonnie? Nancy by a million miles. Bonnie is such a drippy name.

From your wider list I also love Claudia and Vivienne.
