Joni or Martha?

Two completely different names but I'm really torn. I really liked Esther but my husband was really against it

I prefer Martha. What about Hester?

Considerable but i think hubby would say its too similar.

Sorry but I loathe the name Martha with a passion (even though it's my nieces name! )....consider it Mildred/ Maud/ Ethel or something equally yuck in mind.

Anything would be better so in that case Joni wins. I've only ever heard of Joni Mitchell with this name.

Joni is my favourite. I like the way it's unusual but not too out there, it sounds nice to say out loud. It's an interesting name, definitely my preference of the two you are choosing from.

Joni is great...retro and a sound out to a fantastic artist! Martha has grown on me the past few years but has the potential to seem old fashioned and make your daughter a laughing stock.

Esther is horrible.

Definitely Joni. Love it.

But the Tom Waits song Martha is beautiful. So moving.

I love Martha, but the last two friends that announced their arrivals have both chosen Martha! Perhaps it's on the rise.
