At this rate I will be registering 'blank' at the birth (than using the year to name the baby. Not ideal really and who's to tell I find on then..

Here's the challenge...

I am looking for a girl's name

  • one or 2 syllables
  • a warm open sound
  • Feminine although not silly strong rounded name
  • Could have a naturalistic element
  • Could be uncommon
  • From anywhere around the world
  • Could be unisex

If you can help me find that name...I will endevour to send you a voucher for drink or small pressie....and loads of thanks and cyber hugs. I have been looking for 8 mths and no I'm not fussy , honest. Bye mumsnetters, although I'm not expecting miricles, you have been pretty awesome on my journey, so I think this is worth a shot. Sylvie (French, not common, classic and not cutesy to my ear, Sylvanian means 'from the forest').

Meredith means 'from the sea'

I love Genevieve (pronounced Jenna-veev). Can shorten to Evie, Genevie etc Means 'white wave' I believe and would be apt if she's born blonde.

Rowan (unisex, after the rowan tree, good if she's born red-haired as it means 'little red one' in Gaelic.

You could add in a nature-y middle name... eg Iris, Aspen, Autumn, Laurel, Lily etc

Francesca is lovely but doesn't really fit your criteria.

ShmooBooMoo · 04/05/2016 16:41

Camille is also lovely, either pronounced Cam-eel or the French way 'Cammy'

Olive.

It meets all your criteria: it's warm, it's round (starts with a round letter and describes a round fruit!), it's related to nature, it's not too common.

BreakfastAtSquiffanys · 04/05/2016 21:03

I recently read a blog where the writer mentioned her DD Juniper.
My first reaction was Confused but then I really began to like it.
It's unusual but not WTF
