SadSadSad

We narrowed our list down, to a handful of names, the day I had my first scan. I assumed we'd have a name picked, by the gender reveal scan - I was very, very wrong.

He is 6 weeks, tomorrow (that's when the registration appointment is booked, too) so we really need to have 'the one'...

We have tried using each name, but it just didn't help. I thought he'd suit one more, but nope - I now need some 3rd party advice! Wink

Our list is:

  • Aidan
  • Charlie
  • Ciaran/Kieran
  • Elliot/Elliott
  • Louis/Louie
  • Matthew
  • Noah
  • Oliver
  • Tommy (Thomas on BC) but I'm not completely sold on Thomas...

Maybe put them in order - your favourite first; down to your least favourite!

Charles will be the middle name, but if Charlie is picked, it'll be James.

I'm very new here, so please bear with me!

Thank you so much Smile

Matthew as first choice, then Noah (but I do like biblical names). Like Oliver but don't like Ollie. Used to like Elliott but have known some horrors; ditto Keiran.

Plus, as a sufferer of this, if you choose a name that has more than one spelling, you are condemning your child to a lifetime of 'How do you spell that?' questions, so think on.

You could always ask the registrar to pick from your list if you truly can't decide!

Oops - cross post - he's lovely!

In order of preference

Oliver - lovely solid classic name
Aidan - nice traditional classic
Matthew - standard Biblical name
Charlie - would use Charles nn Charlie
Ciaran - quite like
Tommy - OK
Elliot - surname and E.T.
Noah - over-popular and sounds groany
Louis - not keen

James seems to be the "go to" middle name but is nice as a first name.

Other ideas just in case... Ethan, Nicholas, Lucas, Alexander, Leo, Jacob
