Don't be daft - do not choose your daughter's name on the basis of what people say on here! If you and the baby's dad like Elliotte best then go for it. It's your baby. As I said, I know an Elliotte and it doesn't seen to do her any harm.

I know, but I'd hate for her to grow up hating us because of the name! And I'd also hate for everyone to assume she's a boy before they see her

She won't hate you, it's hardly an outrageous name and you're not calling her Snotface Skidmark or something. There are unisex names and it's not a big deal.

Can't not see it as a boys name I'm afraid. Elodie's cute though as others have suggested and makes a nice change from the many similar Ellie types!

I like it. I'd probably spell it Elliott though. I have a boys name... Well a unisex name that was more common in the US than in the UK. Now 30 years later there are a few little girls with my name I've heard called of. The only other person I've actually met with my name was a 10 year old boy. I was way more excited about this fact than he was. I liked being a bit different.
