I wouldn't go with Elliot - it would be Elliott.

If Kiera Carter genuinely sounds okay, I will probably lean towards that.

Sorry, but Keira seems grammatically incorrect, it's lovely still, but Keira was meant to be Kiera and I think Keira only because more popular because of the actor!

Ciara is nice as it's the original, but I'm no where near Ireland and some people pronounce that wrong, but I do like the nickname of CeCe, because of the CC initials :)

Kiera is fine. It goes with the male Kier.

Kiera Carter/Ciara Carter sound and look good to me!

BabyGirl12345 · 15/03/2016 14:35

And the male Kieran!

Hmm, thank you. It is my DH's favourite too. Now, I like Kiera more, but like the NN CeCe for Ciara...

If a little girl told you this was her name, how would you spell it?

Kiera Carter makes me think of Kevin Carter (photographer, and subject of a Manics song).

I actually know an Elliotte and don't think the name has caused her any issues.

MargotLovedTom · 15/03/2016 14:40

I was just musing re the Kevin Carter thing BTW - it doesn't make any difference obviously.

CremeEggThief · 15/03/2016 14:41

What about Julie treatment instead?

CremeEggThief · 15/03/2016 14:42

Argh, Juliette !

In your shoes, I'd just go with Elliott. When people meet her they'll know she's a girl, she can always use Ellie if she wants something more feminine - and you never know, it might open doors... (I've just been reading about how identical CVs are favoured more if they have a male name attached to them instead of female. Now I can see why people are calling their daughters James!)

Strokethefurrywall · 15/03/2016 14:54

I like Eliot for a girl but then DH and I wanted to call DS1 Dylan if he'd been a she!

Girliefriendlikesflowers · 15/03/2016 15:44

I really like CeCe as a name, Keira is lovely as well.

Ilovegummibaers · 15/03/2016 15:49

I think Elliotte looks more feminine and I would also pronounce it differently (emphasis on last syllable). Kids nowadays are pretty open minded about different names and there is certainly nothing teaseworthy about Elliotte.

expatinscotland · 15/03/2016 15:52

Kiera.

NOT 'Elliotte' or any other spelling of this boy's name for a girl.

Questionsagaintoday · 15/03/2016 15:56

What?

And what's with the desire to spell names differently?

Hi I am Finley. (On phone with a call centre)
You spell it ...

Why just why

BabyGirl12345 · 15/03/2016 16:04

So it has a feminine feel

OP posts:
RockUnit · 15/03/2016 16:04

This is Elliott Carter.

Adding a "te" to the end doesn't make it a girls' name IMO. Same goes for Finley/Finleigh.

I think these would sound good with your surname...

Harriet
Louisa
Laura
Olivia
Sophie
Phoebe
Lucy
Niamh
Zoe
Grace
Imogen
Ava
Stella
Abigail
Nia
Megan

albertcampionscat · 15/03/2016 16:05

Please not Elliotte. Might as well go for Nigella. Or Jasperina.

Keira is fine.

Sophronia · 15/03/2016 16:58

Ciara Carter would be nice

BabyGirl12345 · 15/03/2016 17:05

We have come across Grace. How about Grace Elliotte Carter? Hmm

OP posts:
SoupDragon · 15/03/2016 17:27

Elliotte is just as horrid as a first or middle name.

OSETmum · 15/03/2016 17:40

I like Eliette! And Ciara. If unusual is what you're going for then Grace is too common but Eliette Grace or Eliette Rose are lovely.

mrsschu · 15/03/2016 19:02

Oh dear, Elliotte is not a good name... As PP have said, it looks like you're attempting to "feminise" Elliott. In any case I don't like surnames as first names. I also have a bit of an issue with "unisex" names as most of them seem to have started life as boys' names and then become unisex. But the opposite seems to rarely, if ever, happen e.g. You don't find boys being called Harriet or whatever.

AliciaMayEmory · 15/03/2016 19:34

I think Kiera Carter sounds lovely! Rolls off the tongue!
