We go for OT names to please both camps (DH is Jewish; I'm Christian) but I struggled to find one I liked for DD1 and now DD2 is on the way I need help! Any suggestions? Unusualish is good.

I like Esther but a friend has just used it for her baby (humph). I don't really like names ending with ah (I don't know why!) which cuts down the field somewhat. Although I guess Esther is nearly one! None of these is the one I don't think. Do I need to scour the old Book do you think?

Abishag is lovely.
It means "My Father Strays" in hebrew, and she was a young woman that tended King David when he was elderly.

Rebecca

TheBalefulGroke · 08/03/2016 21:23

Bathsheba means 'daughter of the oath'
Dorcas is 'gazelle'
Beulah is 'married'

Chorltonswheelies422 · 08/03/2016 21:27

Ok not sure if it's Old Testament - Jerusha

Sprongpicnic · 08/03/2016 21:27

Miriam?

ISeeIt · 08/03/2016 21:29

That's the tricky thing about lots of OT names - the potential to shorten to a tease worthy NN. My DH will say no to Bath, Dork and Shag for sure! I like Beulah (breaking my ah rule), thanks!
