Trying to find a middle name that's "proper" and appealing, to come after our slightly more quirky choice of first name. DH and I can't agree on any and baby is almost here. Thoughts on Natasha - is it nice, wearable and feminine, or a bit 80s? Can't tell any more

I love the name Natasha.
It's very wearable imo.

absolutelynotfabulous · 13/02/2016 18:23

Well, you asked for associations so "they call her Natasha but she looks like Elsie...I don't wanna go to Chelsea" (shows age)

Sorry not helpful.Grin.

War and peace!

Allalonenow · 13/02/2016 18:25

First thoughts ~ some one born at Christmas time.

toffeeboffin · 13/02/2016 18:27

Not that keen really. Name of person I'm replacing at work. But that's personal, it's a nice name, I guess.

toffeeboffin · 13/02/2016 18:28

Honestly if by 'proper' you middle class I'd have to disagree.

KaraokeQueenOfTheNorth · 13/02/2016 18:29

Natasha Beddingfield.

LikeASoulWithoutAMind · 13/02/2016 18:29

Kaplinsky

Black Widow from the Avengers but that's specific to people into that genre!

I don't associate it with any specific class, I think it's a nice name

Tartyflette · 13/02/2016 18:32

I think of a beautiful Russian spy saying throatily (in a very Russian accent, of course) "my name is Na-tash-a" shows age. Exotic.

lljkk · 13/02/2016 18:36

my friend's little girl who had terrible asthma but now plays rugby & at Uni.

RiverTam · 13/02/2016 18:37

Russian

ivykaty44 · 13/02/2016 18:40

Russian Christmas, or is that Natalie?

FadedRed · 13/02/2016 18:40

War and Peace. I think it's a lovely name.

elephantpig · 13/02/2016 18:41

Oh, I'm sorry to sound a bitch. But just to give my impression, I don't think it's a 'cool' name, I imagine someone quite frumpy.

rosieliveson1 · 13/02/2016 18:43

IMy first thought on hearing it is the film 'true lies' where the female lead is being given her spy name and she hopefully asks for "Natasha" (nat-ar-shah) Grin

Muskey · 13/02/2016 18:44

Asking for impressions but reminds me of a queen bee type in dd class (sorry)

superram · 13/02/2016 18:47

I immediately thought a bit common but actually I teach a lovely Natasha and it may grow on me. The possibility of tasha as a nickname puts me off.

SpotOn · 13/02/2016 18:47

Natasha Kaplinkiplonk or whatever her name is.

It's a nice name....but I don't like the usual nn's.

UmbongoUnchained · 13/02/2016 18:48

It's a lovely Russian name! Also makes me think of Black Widow.

Helmetbymidnight · 13/02/2016 18:49

I would have said 'Kinski' but I've just watched War and Peace...

GiveMyHeadPeaceffs · 13/02/2016 18:54

I think it's a lovely name! It's my friend's middle name; she has a very unusual first name and I think Natasha goes well with it. Anyone that thinks it's a certain class kind of shows their own hang ups imo
