Imogen

Maude

Constance

Edie

Scarlett

No more babies for me, I had one opportunity to name a girl and I called her the rarest name of her generation - we have yet to meet another one within a twenty year range - Mary :)

Catphrase · 05/02/2016 20:46

I wouldn't use these as I'm not having anymore but;
Sorrel
Ivy
Betty
Esme
Edith
Jasmine
Yasmin

Buglife · 05/02/2016 20:49

I wanted Liberty if I had a girl. I still love it. It would be Libby for short. But I think it's just a bit too Middle class wanky really. But I still might one day if I had a girl... It's been slightly ruined by DH deciding that middle name should be 'Belle' if we were going to use Liberty Grin

MadameJosephine · 05/02/2016 20:58

I love Aurelia and Antigone but wouldn't be brave enough to use either

We considered Genevieve for DD but couldn't agree how to pronounce it so we called her Jennifer instead

margaritasbythesea · 05/02/2016 21:03

Farah
Elodie

DD does have an unusual name though. We thought we shouldn't because it is similar to a common name. People do confuse them sometime s but we love it and it suits her perfectly - down to her correcting those who get it wrong

kelda · 05/02/2016 21:04

Bathsheba. Dh vetoed.

BiscuitMillionaire · 05/02/2016 21:05

This is funny because about 9 years ago there was a similar thread, and it gave me the idea for my then soon-to-be-born DD's name. Smile I can't believe I've been on MN that long!

SmellyHead · 05/02/2016 21:07

I like Astrid and Iris.

BiscuitMillionaire · 05/02/2016 21:07

I love Edith, it was my grandmother's name. DH vetoed it.

Kraggle · 05/02/2016 21:13

I love Juno and Vaida, not sure I could use them though.

UmbongoUnchained · 05/02/2016 21:14

Gabriella. Gabby for short!

JennyOnAPlate · 05/02/2016 21:17

havalina there's a Mary in my dds year 1 class Smile

JennyOnAPlate · 05/02/2016 21:18

Oh and iris for me. Wanted it so badly for dd2 but dh just wouldn't be persuaded. Old lady name apparently.

MyBreadIsEggy · 05/02/2016 21:18

If we have another girl she will be called Rafaella Grin love love love it Grin

poorbuthappy · 05/02/2016 22:06

Cordelia.
Totally from Buffy but loved it. DH said no cos we have a 3 syllable surname so thought it was too much.

poorbuthappy · 05/02/2016 22:07

Even when I manage to convince him that apparently it's Welsh he still said no.

manicinsomniac · 05/02/2016 23:19

Xanthe
Olympia
Savannah

Oooh, I have both a Xanthe and a Savannah and I don't consider myself especially adventurous with names. I also have a 3rd daughter with a top 10 name.

I love, love, love but didn't dare use Araminta.

mrsschu · 06/02/2016 00:53

Iseult. I think it's beautiful. Wish I'd used it for DD's middle name at least. DC2 was a boy so it's not meant to be!

Mclaren37 · 06/02/2016 03:36

Octavia
Magnolia
Astrid
Clementine
Camellia
Devon
Orla
Luella
Jemima
(Some are too OTT, others we just don't have enough girls to use them up!)

Mclaren37 · 06/02/2016 03:40

Ooh and I love Cordelia and Araminta from the posts above! I know a 2 yr old Araminta, Minty for short. V cute!

MsJuniper · 06/02/2016 14:01

Names I love but couldn't have used:

Juno
Wren
Adelaide
Martha

I can't say why as the combination of reasons would be very identifying!

As I only have 1 DS the dilemma hasn't come up though.

IoraRua · 06/02/2016 14:34

Aphra. DP adores it, it is pretty... but every time I hear it I think aphrodisiac. Blush
I also liked Allegra and Nova but they'd be hard to pull off in Dublin!

RoseValleyRambles · 06/02/2016 14:39

Esmeralda!
I think all these suggestions make perfect middle names if you don't think they suit as a first. Sets DD/DS up perfectly for 'guess what my initial stands for' games, and gives them a fun alternative if they want to switch. I have a number of friends who go by their middles.

Gracey79 · 06/02/2016 14:46

Aurora - too much of a mouthful
Luna - worried nn loony!
Alice not unusual but worried about the song Blush

gonegrey56 · 06/02/2016 14:49

Violetta (La Traviata fan)....

Such a beautiful name, but Dh would not agree with me
