Gregory

For some reason Gregory has suddenly grown on me. You hardly hear it belonging to anyone under 45.

I think it is due a revival. It is also a classic, but a neglected one.

I love it! It's my childhood teddy bears name (owned for 20 years and very precious to me!) or I'd have considered it myself. My family would have teased me for naming my child after the bear though.

Brokenbiscuit · 26/01/2016 23:05

I've always liked it. The youngest one I know is in his early thirties.

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 26/01/2016 23:06

I love Gregor which is pretty common here (Scotland)

LonnyVonnyWilsonFrickett · 26/01/2016 23:06

Pressed too soon! I like Gregory too...

Pigeonpost · 26/01/2016 23:12

Looooooooooove!! My DH makes sarcastic sausage roll comments (Greggs) whenever I mentioned it though. Sigh.

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 26/01/2016 23:30

I know 2 boys called Gregor. Both age 11/12.

Lucked · 26/01/2016 23:38

I prefer Gregor but Gregory is also an underused nice name.

Sophronia · 26/01/2016 23:51

I love the name Gregory Smile

Eigg · 27/01/2016 00:03

Another Scot voting for Gregor.

tinofbiscuits · 27/01/2016 09:05

I agree it's due a revival.

VeryPunny · 27/01/2016 09:06

I love Gregory but mainly because I had a crush on a lovely Greg when I was a student. Great name.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 27/01/2016 09:21

Yep. I suggested Gregory to somebody on here a year or 2 ago - she used it and thanked me! Made my life. I mean, how cool that there's a litter Gregory running around after I suggested it??? Love the name.

BendydickCuminsnatch · 27/01/2016 09:21

*little!

CaoNiMao · 27/01/2016 10:35

Gregory is a lovely name, but the inevitable nickname 'Greg' is unfortunately less pleasant.

sofato5miles · 27/01/2016 10:40

I love it! Was on my list.

CrystalMcPistol · 27/01/2016 10:55

Just to add a dissenting voice, I think it's really dreadful. As is Gregor.

Twinkie1 · 27/01/2016 11:09

Love it.

I know one who is now 21 and he's a lovely lovely young man.

I may have different feelings if he were a shitbag though.

cecilelliott · 27/01/2016 19:32

This is a lovely name! And reminds me of Gregory House (swoon...)

Go for it!

Raines100 · 27/01/2016 20:35

I have a Gregory. Only one in his year group. Have had some lovely comments, and he loves his name. Best name ever! Grin

JellyTotCat · 27/01/2016 20:36

I like it.

FfionFlorist · 28/01/2016 15:06

Beautiful, classic. Gregory Peck ...shows great age

JingsAndCrivens · 29/01/2016 00:31

Yikes! Awful name. I can see why it's been neglected.

Izzyathome · 29/01/2016 01:12

Love Gregor. Don't like Gregory or Greg much - old fashioned but not in a good way.
