For some reason Gregory has suddenly grown on me. You hardly hear it belonging to anyone under 45.

I think it is due a revival. It is also a classic, but a neglected one.

I love it and wanted in in our shortlist but my DP can't see past Greggs. Mind you "going a bit Greggs" is shorthand in our couple speak for "getting a bit low blood sugar hangry while out and needing to shove down a sausage roll or some other instant hot baked goods ASAP"

Good point Don't I've known a good few Gregors and they never got Greg as a nn.

Like Gregor. Not keen on Gregory or Greg. Think Gregor would less likely to be shortened than Gregory would

I'm with Jings and Crystal here. Really don't like it.

Love Gregor. Don't like Gregory or Greg much - old fashioned but not in a good way.

Yikes! Awful name. I can see why it's been neglected.

I have a Gregory. Only one in his year group. Have had some lovely comments, and he loves his name. Best name ever! Grin

This is a lovely name! And reminds me of Gregory House (swoon...)

Go for it!

Love it.

I know one who is now 21 and he's a lovely lovely young man.

I may have different feelings if he were a shitbag though.

Just to add a dissenting voice, I think it's really dreadful. As is Gregor.

Gregory is a lovely name, but the inevitable nickname 'Greg' is unfortunately less pleasant.

Yep. I suggested Gregory to somebody on here a year or 2 ago - she used it and thanked me! Made my life. I mean, how cool that there's a litter Gregory running around after I suggested it??? Love the name.

I love Gregory but mainly because I had a crush on a lovely Greg when I was a student. Great name.
