I've always loved this name, but rarely hear it nowadays... Is it awful?

I love it!!! Wanted to use it myself (long story) but unfortunately I couldn't! I think it's a gorgeous, elegant name x

StealthPolarBear · 22/01/2016 08:22

Well I'd day it's very much associated with one lady. Up to you if that's a positive or negative

RJnomore1 · 22/01/2016 08:25

I prefer camille myself.

PooDogMillionaire · 22/01/2016 08:26

Haha, Parker-Bowles I'm assuming Wink

Lovely and unusual. But yes people will refer to CB-P but she will be long gone by the time your daughter is an adult!

Catpants123 · 22/01/2016 08:32

I like it, very pretty. Never met one in real life (but two Camilles.)

Only1scoop · 22/01/2016 08:33

Very classic

I like it

TheDowagerCuntess · 22/01/2016 08:38

Lovely name. It's a known name, but not over-used / too popular at all. Also quite timeless, you wouldn't be able to date a Camilla to a particular decade.

ThursdayLastWeek · 22/01/2016 08:39

I like it.
Classic

iciclewinter · 22/01/2016 09:54

It's a pretty name. I think of Camilla Long the comedian.

iciclewinter · 22/01/2016 09:56

Oops, she isn't a comedian, she's a journalist but appears on entertainment programmes like HIGNFY.

PicnicPie · 22/01/2016 10:06

I love it. I think of Millie Mackintosh. Made in Chelsea and heir to Quality Street fortune? I.e. beautiful and rich Smile

WhyCantIuseTheNameIWant · 22/01/2016 10:20

I have never been fond of the name, but the camilla I know is pretty, kind and generally lovely.

Lucked · 22/01/2016 10:25

CPB might not be long gone! She might be the Princess Consort of the king and have a higher public profile. Her public profile will depend on how long Prince Charles lives I suppose.

Despite that I would use the name, it is lovely and I prefer it to Camille

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/01/2016 11:18

I love it and think it is far nicer than Camille.

wigglesrock · 22/01/2016 11:29

I absolutely love it, was always one of my favourites. I think it's a beautiful name.

Lizziedripping1 · 22/01/2016 11:56

Hugely popular amongst the public school kids in my area, still heavily used on some areas of society.

I do think Camille is a lovely alternative and softer sounding

MitzyLeFrouf · 22/01/2016 12:02

It reminds me of that Camilla.

And of Pamelaaaaaa from Gavin and Stacey. She has an obsession with Charles and Camilla and likes Mick to call her Camilla at 'romantic' moments.

nellyflora · 22/01/2016 12:41

Was on my list. DH couldn't get past CPB nor could my mother ( they went to school together unfortunately)

TheDowagerCuntess · 22/01/2016 22:18

I wouldn't worry about CPB. You call a baby/person a name, and they become the association to everyone important around them.

MamaLazarou · 23/01/2016 09:25

I think it's beautiful.

Queenbean · 23/01/2016 09:27

I love the name

Would the nickname be Millie though? There seem to be millions of those around

CaptainWarbeck · 23/01/2016 09:53

I love it too. Agree that when she is grown up CPB won't be such a popular reference.

LadyLuck81 · 23/01/2016 10:27

I've a cousin called Camilla. We shorten it to Cam. Lovely name.

mrsschu · 23/01/2016 22:06

Like it. Had never come across any Camilla's but since having DS I've met a Camilla and a Camille at baby groups, both under 1 year old so it seems to be on the up!
