I like this but would people think it's Melody? Are there any other spelling for this name? Elidie perhaps??

I think it's really lovely. I wasn't aware of alternative spellings but just searched and came up with Elody, Helodie and Elodee. I prefer the -ie and -y spellings.

mupperoon · 14/01/2016 12:28

Stick with Elodie. It's lovely.

TheSecondViola · 14/01/2016 12:28

Lovely, but please don't mess with the spelling.

WhispersOfWickedness · 14/01/2016 13:03

I love Elodie! Definitely keep the original spelling though Smile

Love it. I wanted it for DD but DP wasn't totally sold on it. I hope to persuade him if ever we have another girl.

TheCatsMeow · 14/01/2016 13:05

How do you pronounce it? "ehl-uh-dee" or "e-LO-dee"?

fortifiedwithtea · 14/01/2016 13:10

Never heard of it. It sounds like a yodel to me.

Mrsmulder · 14/01/2016 13:15

I think it's lovely, definitely proper spelling though

Cel982 · 14/01/2016 13:15

I had a friend at school called Elodie. It's a beautiful name. Pronounced like Melody, Cats.

putthePuffindown · 14/01/2016 13:17

I love it, was on our shortlist with Ellie for nn Smile

roaringfire · 14/01/2016 13:18

DD is called Elodie, sometimes gets mistaken for Melody but it's a beautiful name and lots of people comment on it. Rarely get the yodel too!

MNetter15 · 14/01/2016 13:25

Beautiful name. Lovely flow to it.

MrsS182 · 14/01/2016 13:28

Beautiful name

lloydlf76 · 14/01/2016 13:31

I really don't like it. I want too but can't

whenthewindblows · 14/01/2016 13:32

A beautiful name. Love it

BoxofSnails · 14/01/2016 13:33

Love it, have two friends with a dd called Elodie, one usually shortened to Ellie. I wouldn't change the spelling.

BabyAlexander · 14/01/2016 13:47

Love it, couldn't persuade DH to put it on our list.

nextusername · 14/01/2016 14:02

I don't particularly like it, sorry.

Sophronia · 14/01/2016 14:16

Don't like it at all, sorry.

Boredofthinkingofnewnames · 14/01/2016 14:39

Love it. My favourite girls name. Do wouldn't let me have it though.

MissBattleaxe · 14/01/2016 14:40

Lovely just as it is.

3luckystars · 14/01/2016 14:44

I know an Elodie and she's a lovely little girl, so I like it. I don't know any others. It really suits her.

ifcatscouldtalk · 14/01/2016 14:46

Ive only known one elodie who went to same nursery as my dd. I think it's a very pretty name. You will never get 100% of people liking any name. If you love it, go for it Smile

Eminybob · 14/01/2016 14:48

It was top of my list when I was expecting DS. DP wasn't keen but I'll work on him again if the next DC is a girl.

Anyway, I love it (obviously). Its of French origin.

I have only known one Elodie who I went to school with. Her mum was our French teacher.
