MothershipG · 22/01/2016 08:45

Well I love it! So I used it! (Outs self completely! Grin)

My Griffin is 16 now and we've only ever had compliments about it, it goes perfectly with our surname, it's easy to spell, obvious pronunciation, interesting but not 'out there'.

I thought we'd abbreviate to Finn, but he's mostly Griffin, Griff or Griffy (the last only at home!)

After picking it I subsequently discovered it was the name of the local brewery and the ground of our local football team! Still love it. If you've worked out you know me PM if you want. Smile

Best name ever! So there!

Lizziedripping1 · 22/01/2016 11:54

I like it. My first thought is family guy, I'm glad the BNP doesn't come to my mind!

Hiddlesnake · 23/01/2016 16:47

...that the parents had meant to use the name Gryffudd but made a mistake.

MothershipG · 23/01/2016 21:03

No mistake Hiddle Smile I love Welsh names, I love Gryffudd but I only have the teeniest tinyest drop of Welsh blood so couldn't have got away with it. So yet another reason Griffin is a fab name, Welsh roots but you can get away with it if you're an English/Scottish/Maltese/Irish cross.

Tartyflette · 23/01/2016 21:09

Griffindor.
Gryff is better.
Gryffudd is surely Griffith in English. (A surname. )

AmyC86 · 23/01/2016 23:36
