Louiza or Eliza to go with Zara?

Absterchi · 12/01/2016 05:05

Our DD2 is 3 days old and has no name yet. Favourites at the moment are Louiza or Eliza which go quite well with DD1 name Zara Sofia.

What do you think? Louiza or Eliza

Others on short list which could serve as middle names are:
Hannah
Ava
Izzy
Louisa
Cate

Louisa. Or what about Elise??

OneWordTwoSyllables · 12/01/2016 06:35

Eliza or Louisa with Cate as a middle name.

AuntieStella · 12/01/2016 06:38

Louisa Cate

Or Eliza Louise (though every other person my age has Louise as a middle name)

MrsCaecilius · 12/01/2016 09:24

LouiSa with an S. Just looks wrong with a Z....

TheDowagerCuntess · 12/01/2016 09:26

With the greatest respect though Stella, The baby's not your age. Hmm.

Both gorgeous names but I'd go for Eliza Cate or Eliza Louise

KoalaDownUnder · 12/01/2016 10:11

Louiza is dreadful. Louisa, if you must.

I prefer Eliza.

nextusername · 12/01/2016 10:24

I like Louisa, Hannah and Ava.

WorldsBiggestGrotbag · 12/01/2016 10:27

Eliza.

Cotherstone · 12/01/2016 10:28

Love Louisa, but with an S not a Z.

AuntieStella · 12/01/2016 10:54

Yes, I know.

It was seriously, seriously overused. But enough time has passed for me to think it's ok to suggest again, as I like it very much despite that factor. I do mention potential drawbacks, so OP can consider them even if only to discard them.

tomatodizzy · 12/01/2016 10:55

How about Luisa which would be the z way of saying it (Spanish etc). Luisa Cate

Eliza is too similar to Zara, it's a nice name though.

squoosh · 12/01/2016 13:03

I know a Greek Louiza but if you're not Greek I'd just go with Louisa.

squoosh · 12/01/2016 13:04

I also know a Polish Zofia and Zuzana. Dead international me!

HumbleCrumble · 12/01/2016 13:40

I like Louisa with an S, but if you spell it with a Z I think it looks too much like you're trying to be matchy-matchy with Zara. So I would say Louisa Cate or Eliza Cate.

TheWomanInTheWall · 12/01/2016 14:05

Louisa and Louise both have a 'z' sound rather than an 's' sound, to me!

AlisonWunderland · 12/01/2016 14:08

My print is too small so I read Cate as CAFE.
It's only a matter of time....

Sophronia · 12/01/2016 14:15

Louisa spelled this way

KoalaDownUnder · 12/01/2016 14:17

Louisa already has a 'z' sound in the middle!

It's Luisa that's pronounced with a soft 'S'. At least, the two Italian Luisas that I went to school with.
