Would you be happy if they called him olly as a nick name?

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 02/01/2016 12:52

Oliver

Bluesand1 · 02/01/2016 12:55

Husband loves Olly I prefer Oliver and would call him that but know he would get Olly

Haven't met a young Seth in a while, but Oliver is quite common in primary school at the moment, if you worry about two in a class.

GoldPlatedBacon · 02/01/2016 13:01

I love the name Oliver but I know 5 babies called that. They've all been shortened to Olly/Ollie. I would choose Seth as it's a nice name e and much less popular

Cheesymonster · 02/01/2016 13:03

My nephew is Seth and I think it's a great name. Oliver is too popular IMO.

SoWhite · 02/01/2016 13:03

Seth by far.

Oliver is dull as dishwater.

LittleCandle · 02/01/2016 13:04

Oliver. A classic name that never dates.

Seth is untrustworthy and sly.

Bluesand1 · 02/01/2016 13:05

We have also had Sebastian and William on the list

Oliver has been the number 1 boy name in the uk 2015, so is extremely popular.

ifigoup · 02/01/2016 13:07

Seth is a great name. Oliver is perfectly nice, but too heavily-used at the moment.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 02/01/2016 13:09

Ah well, now I'd say Sebastian

AndersArms · 02/01/2016 13:12

Seth.

I've got one. It's uncommon without being unusual.

reni2 · 02/01/2016 13:18

Sebastian and William are very popular around here, too. Depends how you feel about popularity. Seth is the only one of your list that's quite rare.

I'd have hated being Simon 1 Simon 2 Simon 3 or Sarah F Sarah B Sarah M in school. Or worse, fat Jane, thin Jane, old John, young John. I know people who quite liked being one of the 3 Daniels in class and found it funny though.

MabelSideswipe · 02/01/2016 13:20

I have a Seth. He is the only one on his secondary school and one of two in his primary (the other one was a lot younger). Oliver is a lovely name but there are loads of them. Seth does not have many piss taking opportunities either...and believe me boys that age are really creative!

Sophronia · 02/01/2016 15:43

Seth - it's more interesting

diddl · 02/01/2016 15:46

Sebastian.

Nn Seth!

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 02/01/2016 15:48

Oliver by a very, very long way. I really dislike Seth.

sooperdooper · 02/01/2016 15:51

Seth, Olivier is so massively over popular he'll end up one of 2-3 in a class

BikeRunSki · 02/01/2016 15:54

Seth, there are small Olivers all over the place.

CPtart · 02/01/2016 16:43

Oliver, although it's really too popular for me, but Seth is a dreadful name.
William is great (also v popular), Sebastian ok.

Greenteandchives · 02/01/2016 16:50

To me Seth is a noise, not a name. Settttttthhhhhh.
Prefer Oliver. Sound cheerful.

Pinklily1 · 02/01/2016 16:53

I like Seth, Sebastian is nice too.

timelytess · 02/01/2016 16:55

Yes, Oliver or Seth. You can't go wrong.

IamSantaClaus · 02/01/2016 16:58

Seth. It's a lovely name. I find it a lot less dull than Oliver
